Team Veritas may be forming soon. I will start a new page to get some ideas on times. There is no reason we can not get another group going. Preferably not full consulars.

Computer problems got me hampered down tonight, and didn't have anything up on the calendar for tonight anyway. My mistake.

Sign-ups are marked up on the calendar!

We have more shadows than humanly thought possible.

Other issues are also slowing this down.

Want the honest answer or the PC one?

I'm willing to do this as Tecknik, but I think I only have one piece of War Hero so far.  The rest of my gear is augmented Battlemaster.

I would like the honest answer, because PC answers aren't going to help anyone.  I'd rather people be pissed off because they're hearing the truth than content with hearing bullshit.

Truth it is then..

The team requirements from the start were wrong.  Three pieces of War Hero gear was listed first.  That excluded 85% of the guild and they all said screw that.  Why did they say that?  Did they know what I know and something I've pointed out more times than I care to comment on ...

GEAR DOESN'T MEAN SHIT.

I consistently outscore, out medal and out perform people with far better gear than I have/had.  We consistently see this in Warzones.  Teck you're another example of someone that doesn't have gear but does very well in WZ.  There are other examples.

There are further examples of people who have lots of War Hero gear and are terribad.  They can Warzone away all day long losing their way to gear.  Good job, you have great gear but you don't know how to win or play your class.

GEAR DOESN'T MEAN SHIT.

People need to learn to play their class and their role.  I've seen more than a few examples of this.

People also need to learn winning strats for WZs.

We have a fair number of good PvPers and these folks don't want to waste time and energy in a rated warzone losing.

So these things fall into a different category.  Its called skill.  How do you judge that?  How do you objectively rate that?  Wins?  Medals?  Top Rated Rank?  Color of your lightsaber?  How much expertise you have?  How large your e-peen is?  I don't know the answer here for sure but I do think saying things like "Advanced knowledge of your class" is way too subjective.  Who says someone is an expert?

More than anything, we need someone to lead the effort and make it happen.  Someone to make the tough calls on who is a team member and who isn't.  When the team is going to play.  How long the team will play.  How many matches per week the team will play and what's the rating goal.  Who the best person to lead this is something for the masters to decide and based on this post I'll air the topic at our next meeting.

Speaking of ranked warzones... I finally finished leveling Nakari (gunslinger, dirty fighting ((dots)) dps).. got my first piece of war hero today, going to start trying to grind out a few more pieces.. but I'm slightly confused...

Its pre-season right now. Meaning, win or lose, doesn't matter.

This is the time we should be using, with our 'ranked' team.. to be doing ranked warzones, getting better geared, learning effective rotations for our classes, and figuring out our strategies as an overall team, as well as getting ourselves to a point where we work together as a team without having to debate every little move... yet, it doesn't look like anyone is doing any ranked warzones at all..

I do have to agree with Mharz though. Gear doesn't matter.. but I have also noticed a consistent thing with our pvpers... "DPS DPS DPS DPS DPS DPS OMG LOOK AT MY DPS!"

And after PVPing all the way to 50... I learned something neat. You can crank out DPS all day long, but that doesn't mean you're going to win. I say it every time I am ops lead in a match.

"It isn't about Death Matching. Its about objectives and winning."

And with those thoughts... I'd love to be considered for a ranged dps spot on our ranked team :) which was the whole reason I leveled Nakari.

So. Yeah. When are we doing this?

I have 3 types of toons to offer, all in varies stages of gear.

Shadow DPS
Sentinel DPS
Sage Healer

I would love to participate in Ranked WZ's if we can get the participation and dedication it deserves.

And to Mharz's comments, I'm not sure on how good or bad I am but I'm open to learn and become better. To anyone, feel free to critique my WZ abilities anytime.

This. This all the way.

You guys go into these ranked Warzone's expecting to wipe face or even contend. Want to know why you can't? It's because you don't know your class.

There are different definitions of "knowing your class". I always laugh at people who play all of these different characters and expect to be just as good as that one person they see in that one warzone who was godlike in their ability to play said class.

Why does Tbone play such a good Sentinel? Why is Broin such a good Sage? Why is Lithium such a good tank?

It isn't because they have better gear than you. It isn't because they are over-powered. It's because they have spent literally over 45 days of GAME-TIME doing nothing but playing that class. They don't really play their alts very much (except to get the Legacy buffs...), and they spend all of their time on their mains either PVPing or PVEing. This gives you a deeper understanding of your class that can only be gained from consistent playing of that class and understanding why you do things the way you do.

(Caveat... Just because you have 34234 days of play time on your character doesn't mean you know him.)

I never PVP on my Commando. Ever. I never PVP on any of my alts. Ever. I may raid on them occasionally, but any person raiding, as long as they know the encounter, can probably fair just fine. PVP is where the truly big boys play.

And rated war zones are where the biggest of the big boys play.

Why, in God's name, would you want to spend your time getting eaten alive by the best of the best when you don't even truly know your class? I don't want to play in a ranked match with someone who doesn't know their rotation without even looking down at their abilities. I don't want to play in a ranked match with someone who doesn't know when the most opportune time to use an ability is and when they should save it. I don't want to play in a ranked match with someone who can't properly kite someone in a 1v1 situation. Insert more statements.

Why?

It's not fun. Honestly, it's not fun playing with someone who doesn't truly know their class and how to play it in a warzone. There is a large, large difference between being able to run a hardmode flashpoint and being a good PVPer. There's a large, large difference between the DPS you can do on a target dummy and the DPS you HAVE TO DO when you're kiting that god damned Sentinel that won't get off your ass.

If you're leveling a new class to start ranked PVP with, my hats off to you. Go for it. We have too many Consulars, and the last thing I want to see is another Consular in our group. However, that doesn't mean you should suddenly start RWZ'ing it up. I can tell you with 100% certainty that you don't have a firm grasp of your class as a fresh 50. I don't care what you say. I don't care whether you know every proc and every stat that is in the Skill Tree. I don't care if you WZ'd all the way to the top on him. I don't care that you did every Flashpoint on your way up and know how to heal/tank/DPS. I'll let you in on a little secret.

You don't.

I'll be the first to admit that, back in January/February/March, I knew very little on my Sage Healer. Sure, I was a very effective healer, but I knew about 20% of what I know now. And, guess what? I'm still learning new stuff about my class ALL THE TIME... and they haven't even changed anything recently. I just recently learned a sweet rotation for single heals in PVE that pretty much allows me to keep my Force at the same amount. I've translated it into PVP, and it works nicely.

Here's a tip from Anamodiel:

Spend a month getting acclimated to 50 PVP and get some gear. Queue up with people in the guild in Teamspeak. Find a buddy to also play that class with who you can bounce ideas/strategies off. I've learned more in these last few months with Adam as a fellow healer simply because I have someone else healing who thinks differently than I do. Sometimes he does better than me. Sometimes he does worse than me. A lot of the times he does something different from me. All of it is a learning experience, especially if you take the time to continually chat and learn with said buddy.

I don't care who you are or how little health you have - Anamodiel will be there to DPS and heal with you on his Sage to get you better at PVP. I can tell you a ton about the numbers you should be hitting. I will not, however, go over how to tank or your rotation for a different class. I may give you some advice on how to do it from a healer perspective, but don't tell me about your rotation. I don't care.

Side note: The gear requirement was put in place because it wanted to push you to PVP. It wasn't because having three pieces of WH gear meant that you were uber-elite. It meant that you should have a good, solid grasp of your class. That part obviously slipped by a good bit of you.

...And we will strike down upon those of Darkness, with great vengeance and Furious Anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

I think one of the major problems is this mentality right here.

I've seen people with full War Hero gear who don't know shit about playing their class.  Plenty of them.

Having one piece of War Hero or having 14 pieces of War Hero says absolutely nothing about what you know or don't know.

Agreed completely.

Like I said, horrible players can lose their way to good (War Hero) gear given enough time.

And I'm going to edit this and call bullshit on Ana's interpretation of the gear requirement because later in the list there's a requirement to have good knowledge of your class.

Why state it twice?

And even if that is what it meant if the majority of the people (myself included) thought it was a stupid useless requirement it shouldn't have been on the list.
