I'm terrible at telling stories, so to make a needlessly long tale short and painless:

Popped the question to my beloved today, and to my eternal bewilderment, she said yes.  Now she's stuck with me!  And I don't even have a life insurance policy.

I hope you all had a merry Christmas as well!
