lets be honest.. if you already got your preorder code allowing for early access.. and really cant depend on Amazon.. cancel your order.. you will still retain early access.. and go to your local game store (gamestop, walmart, etc.) and order you a copy.. most of these locations from my understanding will be carrying extra copies above and beyond the preordered amount.. except maybe the super collectors edition..

Amazon Pre-Orders: No Release Date Delivery Option
« Reply #31 on: December 09, 2011, 01:21:38 pm »
Alright so I contacted Amazon via phone and spoke with Kelvin the supervisor and Josh the guy above him....

I expressed my disappointment with Amazon.... Poor Kelvin and Josh.

What they explained to me is that they have two systems they are working off of when they view my order.  The order placement system and then the order shipping system.

The order shipment system shows that game is due to ship on the 19th and then arrive on the 20th.  That being the earliest date and the 22nd being the worst date scenario.

Not good enough for me so I told Josh we need to compare my order and shipment dates with the order and shipment dates of someone who had the option "Release date delivery"  If they match up then we all should be good to go...

Here is the catch I need someone who had the "Release Date Delivery" option to provide me with the following

1) Name exactly as it appears on their account
2) Email address the account is listed under
3) Billing address on the account
4) Order number for the actual game

With that information he will compare the two orders and make sure that the shippign side matches.    If you anyone is willing to do this please just post here and let me know...

DO NOT POST YOUR INFO HERE.

DO NOT PM ME YOUR INFO.

JUST POST HERE THAT YOU ARE WILLING AND THEN WE'LL WORK OUT THE DETAILS.

Go ahead, make my day.

Sent you my info. In the spirit of fairness, I will await your name, email, and address in my PM box as well.

Also, if this screws up my order, I will be hunting you down.

:)

Good luck

SO according to this:  http://www.swtor.com/preorder/faq#q209656

There is a grace period.  So my understanding is that if you preordered, you get early access game play for free up to the 20th just by using your preorder code.  However on the 20th, if you haven't put in your CD key from the box itself, you won't be able to play until you enter your CD key (product key).

So to clear things up, you will be able to play the early access time.  But if your package does not get to you before 12:01am on Dec 20th you will not get to play until you put that key in.

Huge discussion here as well:  http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=722366

Edit:  I know this doesn't solve the 20th game play issue but there seemed to be some confusion about the early access time.

Just blame EA... they are pure evil.

(I don't have the release delivery option either.)

Don't believe everything you think.

There's no confusion. Grace period does NOT equal early access. The problem is that what's the point in getting to play the game 7 days early if you then have to wait a week or two after the 20th before you can continue playing. Players should not be penalized for ordering a physical, more expensive copy of the game. Period.

Honestly the more I find out, the more pissed I get. Did they just randomly upgrade people free of charge and leave the rest of us out to dry? So far I've been told the reason I don't have that option is because I ordered too soon, but it sounds like you guys did the same thing and got upgraded arbitrarily. So here I am, having ordered before you and paying an extra $10 for shipping, and I'm still getting it after you.

Fuse, did you get the email saying you had been upgraded or did you have that option all along?

It sounds like Amazon made that option available later the same day that it was available for pre-order.

Never saw the email, but it is possible I simply deleted it if the subject didn't grab my attention.
I only noticed it when Manic mentioned it and I went to see for myself.
