I shall certainly be holding off for a while, not least because BF games generally have a lot of bugs to begin with.  But, I reckon this will be the first big game to test Origin and the demands on it's service.

So my experience with playable frame rates is generally anything over 30. In which case I will be holding off on doing anything in the gpu department (5850 currently). That said, I'm hoping prices of the 6970 drop another $50 in 2012.

Downloading Beta

edit: don't think i'm getting in today, butt ton of people have overfilled the servers. I've been stuck in queue for hours now.

Yeah I have MOH:LE so I would normally get a beta invite but I think I canceled the email associated with that account.

In the Beta! It's an open beta, meaning that anyone with Origin can download it at not cost whatsoever. Download speeds were freaky fast (I averaged 2 megs/s), so it only took about 30 minutes to download.

The game is certainly fun. If you're looking for something other than LoL to play (Arch/Setun/Broin/everyone else), GET THIS BETA!

I can't get the game to launch. The browser comes up and I pick a server and the game launches but it just sits there as a black screened window. Also I can't seem to add people to my friends list in the browser from origin. I am using chrome.

Ya, the people adding function doesn't seem to be working right now, as for the launching issues, are you sure you have all the proper files installed? When I first tried to play there was a little notification in the bottom left of the screen that said I needed to download additional things to run it.

I currently have friends added, and we've tested the party system which works as well. overall i'm very impressed with the battlelog.
