I guess you haven't seen an Android. The FA clock will actually work!

Because people with iOS devices need a website to tell them the time when there is a clock right at the top of the screen, right?

The next phone I get will most likely be Android based because I use Sprint. My contract isn't up for another six months, though, so this is a cheaper alternative for the time being. I don't have to pay per month to use my iPod touch, unlike a smart phone.

If you can find me something with the same capabilities as an iPod touch with no monthly plans, then I would be very happy to consider using it, but I know that here is very little on the market right now that rivals the iPod touch.

Best Buy and other places sell unlocked Android phones. Just get one running 2.2+, compabitle with the carrier you eventually want to go with, one with expandable mircoSD is a good idea too, I personally added a 32gb card on mine, and turn the cell radio off. You now have a fully capable media unit. Then when it's time to get a new contract you activate the phone you already are using!

I suppose you also want to get a discount when the contract renewal comes around, so you have to figure is the price of (in this case) an iPod Touch + the price of the phone you will eventually pay for greater than just buying the smartphone at full price now. And you can even pull a switch-a-roo and get a new phone cheap or free on the renewal and resell the new or old phone!

So I finally saw Inception. I won't give anything away for those who have not yet seen it. Say what you want to about the ending, that was a damn good film. I like cinema that challenges the viewer without being too esoteric; quite the opposite, some of movie hit very close to home for me. Another film that did that recently is "The Next Three Days."

About that movie... I would like to quote Lithium's Signature... "Don't believe everything you think."

I'm disappointed that Sprint WiMAX struggles to achieve 2Mbps download on average and can't even beat 3G upload speeds. But, they do have a good '4G' gimmick running.

Sprint is going to have to open the throttle if they want to keep in the game with Verizon LTE offering 5-12Mbps down and 2-5Mbps up. Some pre-release reviewers achieved over 20Mbps on LTE. Note: both WiMAX and LTE can support up to 100Mbps down, but are basically throttled by the carrier.

Oh, and I have a Droid X on Verizon right now.

Don't believe everything you think.

Perhaps it's your area, but Sprint in the midwest is awesome. I left TMobile because I could never have ANY service here in central IL, as it's kind of farmland outside of the city I'm in, but Sprint's 3G is strong and quick. When visiting family in the far south suburbs of Chicago I still got 8mb 4G.

That's not bad at all. Nearly everything I'd read about Sprint WiMAX says it averages between 2-3 Mbps. The upload speed disappoints though, especially when Sprint marketing boasts flawless voice/video chat.

With Verizon 3G I get: 1159/831 Mbps. I don't know what you get in Sprint 'roaming' areas but there seem to be a lot of them on their map. With Verizon I struggle to roam the country and find areas without 3G and even more so areas with no service at all.

Don't believe everything you think.

Sprint 3g is usually about 2mb, and that's in my rural area, 3g near chicago is even better.

Video chat is also very dependant on the app you're using. Qik gave my wife and I issues on our 3g, but  fring does a much better job. It's still not seamless, but is useable.

Colored the engravings on my slide yesterday. This side turned out pretty well, but the other was a mess - parts of the engraving aren't deep enough.

I remember that... I loved the FA reference.  They just really hated us because we killed them so much.
