The "Kollector's Edition" of the new Mortal Kombat will be the first time I've ever purchased a game's collector's edition.

So many memories of weekends spent at the local comic book shop, reading comics, buying/trading pogs (remember pogs?!), and dumping quarters into MK 1, 2, and 3.  Perfecting combos and mastering every fatality.  

I remember the days before the internet, even before game guides, and you had to know somebody who's older brother knew somebody who somehow knew every cheat code.  We kept notebooks and printouts of them all.  To this day, I still prefer to write codes and commands down by hand.  I keep a wooden box filled with Moleskine notebooks just for this purpose.

After the series went 3D, it seemed like every new game was an excuse for the developers to take the series less seriously.  Then when MK vs. DCU came out, the first MK to downgrade from Mature to a Teen rating, I was sure that it would signal the death of the franchise.

But I'm glad to see I was wrong, and that this new MK is returning to what made the game great.  Cannot fucking wait.

I'm about to start my royal marine training in Janurary (12 months of physical and mental tests in order to become a lieutenant in the reserves). Got my application pack today

Will post on how it goes. ~Have been given a 200 page fitness manual recommended by the CPO, if anyone's interested I'll PM them the name of the book - it's got everything ranging from nutrition, psych warm up, physical warm up, stretches, improvisation, recovery techniques and what to expect in the Commando course.
