Try writing out the number 10^100 (it's actually named a googolplex)

Damnit... you edited right as I refreshed and hit quote... =)

Slightly incorrect...Well, I was in my comparison to the universe.

10^100 is a Googol. A Googleplex is 10 to the power of a googol, or 10^google, or 10(10^100).

From wiki: "In the documentary Cosmos, astronomer and broadcast personality Carl Sagan estimated that writing a googolplex in base-10 numerals (i.e., 1 followed by a googol of zeroes) would be physically impossible, since doing so would require more space than the known universe provides."

Wtf have you guys heard of this chatroulette? My friend just showed it to me. I wasn't on a computer with a cam, but it was mostly just dudes jacking off. Wtf is that supposed to be?? Apparently it was popular like a month ago. I had never heard of it.

Yeah, apparently it's basically completely random with who you get paired with and most people do crazy shit...

One of those crazy things being jerking off, Which to be honest, isn't so crazy since it's easy to come by on there. Other times people will just be bored looking for something interesting and maybe you'll come across crazy people dancing or hell, Kermit the frog.

Is that really how far The Matrix has fallen?  Ten DVDs for the price of one?

/sigh

Well, how long has it been now since The Matrix was the hottest thing on dvd/blu-ray?

Yes, it was a great series of movies and a definite one of a kind idea.  However, its "IT" factor has diminished.

I got into a heated argument with some of my friends this afternoon after one said that they found "The Matrix" boring and the others said that the other two sucked. I basically said that some people can't handle movies that both provide entertainment AND force you to have to think about things at the same time.

Good for you!

It really bugs me when people say that it sucks, too. Just because they didn't kill off the big, bad, mean Machines in the end, and the ending was a little different, doesn't make it a bad movie. The second and third movies were also built up to be so much more than what they were. Every fan of the original movie wanted something different, and nothing would have lived up to the hype of the second/third movies because everyone built the first movie up too much.

I also think that most people just don't have the attention span to watch both of the movies back to back. They're really just one long story, but, because they chose to include so much stuff, it had to be cut. People think the second movie sucked because there was no conclusion and nothing was really solved. As previously mentioned, people hated the third movie because of the different ending.

...And we will strike down upon those of Darkness, with great vengeance and Furious Anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.

I get into this debate with my co-workers all the time.  A few weeks back we had some corporate auditors in the office, and our manager told us specifically to not bring up The Matrix so as to avoid getting into a heated argument within earshot of the suits.

I understand The Matrix has fallen far to the wayside in terms of popular culture, despite its influence continuing to impact all kinds of visual media, but I didn't think it had gotten so bad that retailers would be practically giving the DVD set away.

Well, you are kinda talking about two different issues here.  You're talking about its monetary value vs its intellectual and philisophical value.  You seem to forget that some of the best things in life are not measured by their monetary cost.  Westerners in general are extremely shallow.  We think that because something costs alot, that it must be a quality product.  So, we'd rather watch formula bound stories with shallow, easy to follow stories with fairy tale endings than watch something that makes us consider the purpose of our very existence.
