In music recording, the producer and the band get to select if they want a certain instrument in a certain ear. A good example of this is 'Song for the Dead' by Queens of the Stone Age where the drums are designed to be heard in the left ear while the resonance is to be heard from the right. I just think it's just something to make the song different.

Personally, I think that if you want to make something more noticable just crank up the volume or decrease the volume of other instruments.

Realizing the difference between the two will vastly improve your gaming. For instance, you hear someone reloading their gun. Your instinct is to look where you hear the reloading. If you have your headphones reversed, you're gonna be looking completely the wrong direction...lol.

"Destroyed" is an old-timey, but socially appropriate word for putting down animals. Sometime in the late 80's they stopped using it in the US and went to "putting down" because it sounded a little less like you were junking a car and a little more like you were killing a living thing. But it IS an actual term.


And clearly I have to play with my sound settings because I hear the same from both, no matter what direction it's "supposed" to be coming from! Thanks for the help.
