The only RTS I actually liked was StarCraft.

I didn't even like C&C that much after I was introduced to StarCraft.

I just played a game against the CPU on 'standard setting', it gave me 2 minutes to set up my base and start getting my troops equipped with heavy weaponry and sergeants (I play as Space Marines) before they tried to Zerg me.

Dawn of War gets you to think and adapt to gameplay and not just throw everything in, i.e. I was stuck during the game mentioned above - there was a stalemate so I had to use drop pods from the 'battle barge' (spaceship) in orbit to drop down three squads of tactical marines to get behind the blighters.

Although, Dawn of War II only gives you a handful of infantry and gets you to think about cover and weapon selections.

Personally, I prefer it to StarCraft = I love the 'sync-kills' and the overall vicious gameplay.
