Not entirely true, but speaks to the point I always make, which is that any scientist that isn't a skeptic of the causes behind global warming or the long term models isn't really a scientist.
If all the world's problems were solved today, what would you have left to do tomorrow?

Global warming is an interesting topic but I have to side with there is nothing unusual going on. There have been huge climate shifts throughout earth's history. It's nature, even more it is physics, it's the earth trying to balance the equations...

Indeed Lithium, which is why when reading the latest issue of Newsweek and reading the transcript from a recent Gingrich and Kerry debate I was so pissed off. Newsweek quotes in large font the phrase "Even the staunchest skeptics of global warming can't deny Earth's average temperature has been rising recently" right in the middle of a 12 page article only discussing Anthropogenic Global Warming and how we're all screwed unless we stop using coal and oil immediately, like in ten minutes! Yes the average temperature is rising, but that doesn't mean catastrophe, nobody knows exactly why it's happening or how to predict the future. Me thinks a bit one sided point of view, great journalism!

They even have a page on "How to speak with your scared children about global warming" Give me a fucking break!

The global greenhouse effect is a misnomer, anthropogenic global warming is a hypothesis and further more, by 1970, everyone thought we were headed into an ice age.

You want to save the planet, get an education and think for yourselves. Cleaner fuel/energy is good because it cuts down pollution (photochemical smog), a literally visible and measurable problem (anyone here from LA?).
If all the world's problems were solved today, what would you have left to do tomorrow?

I got a 27 on my ACT.

I'm taking another one tomorrow in hopes that I get a better score.

You ever take the SAT's? Some people are better at one test than the other.

Nice job Ana! Good luck tomorrow!

I only got a 26. Made two perfect scores in Reading and English, bumbled my way through Science, and passed the Math portion by one lucky little point.

What was your best subject?

*edit* I say only, but then again I only took it once and that was with a hangover... didn't matter to me though, at my college (my first choice) the next scholarship bracket was a 32+ and I didn't think I was ever going to get up that high

I scored an 1100/1600 on the SATs after 4 hours of sleep and no practice whatsoever.

My friend got a 35 on the ACT and a 2300/2400 on the SAT. She's looking at MIT.

I have yet to take my SAT. My best subjects were apparently science and reading. I could have sworn that I guessed on at least 70% of the Science, but I got a 95%. Math was my worst subject (got a 23). Stupid Geometry. That is the ONE class that I do not get.

I don't agree with the new SAT format with the essay (formally the SAT II Writing test).

Luckily I took mine before they changed (suckers!)
I got a 1360 on my SAT's (720M 680V)

Try to keep things in perspective about ACTs and SATs, the tests were originally designed for farmer kids in the Midwest to see if any of them were smart enough for Ivy League/Private Universities.

With the modern system, the scores aren't really providing a gauge of your brains and potential, they're just part of the over all financial picture. The higher the score, the less money you have to pay out of pocket for college (in  theory).

Global Warming... LMFAO  Hell back in the 70's we were going to be in the middle of a freaking ICE AGE by the year 2000 if we didn't get our act together.

I hope you younger members realize that the whole global warming crowd is actually made up of most of the left over big communists, who are using global warming B.S. to attack captilasim which of course they hate.

Couldn't defeat it in the ColdWar so they're trying other methods....

Tell you what... You really want to know why it's hotter.... Look the F' up.... it's called the SUN for christ sake.  :D

Go ahead, make my day.
