This is truly epic, 'togi and the others involved! I did a Neo 'Woah' during the animation when I pressed 'research'. The only tid bit I could find that's hardly worth mentioning is that on the lower left wing, it pops up when you're a good distance away (between the login and research) but on the right wing it only pops up when you scroll over it from the bottom (which I presume is the way it's supposed to be).

The Mac issue may be a lost cause for now.  Yotogi and I troubleshooted this last night.

There has been a recent Flash update for Windows that is not yet available for OSX.  Yotogi managed to find a beta version (codenamed "Gala") of the next OSX release, while I uninstalled Flash completely from my Mac.  I installed Gala, but this did not resolve the issue.

Is it possible for the flash content to do an OS check of the user's computer?  If it determines that the user is on a Mac, then a block of text pops up explaining that the user must be using Windows to view the content.  It's not an ideal solution, but I'm not sure how else to handle it.

I know there isn't anything like that in the Flash Program's Publish settings but I'm sure somewhere someone has created a snippet of code that does what you mention.

Are we going to run into this same problem with our challenge?

I know there's a way using javascript:

You need to google around and find the specific functionality that Mac does not support. You then need to perform that functionality in a different way. Or you should give the source code to Adad so he can load it on a Mac and see if he can rewrite that part to perform the same animation in a way that works on Mac. Either way, welcome to cross-platform programming.

I wrote a javascript (that is hopefully temporary) to redirect based on OS detection. It'll make it's way to you guys.

Don't believe everything you think.

We got the redirect working, and the code is there for Yotogi to add.

Still researching the Mac flash problems...can't find anything specific since the Mac has SO MANY issues with flash (most of the stuff I find is the bickering between the two companies).

Also, we still need to get another fresh copy of the "All Good Things" movie, but that could be done post-release as well.

Really the Mac issue is the only thing keeping us from going live with it.

It'd be nice to go live with this today, since it is August 1st and we wanted to have SOMETHING done by August.

Thefuriousangels.com stuff

The SW:TOR intro has no loading screen.  I reloaded it 3 times thinking it was broken.  There needs to be some sort of indicator to wait while loading.  Nothing fancy like a % maybe just a spinning something with a “loading”.  You have no idea how quickly people will click away if they feel it’s not working.
The intro screen as well as the main.html section needs to be optimized for standard resolution browsing or scale to the resolution in which it is being viewed.  For example my laptop at work which has a very common 1280 x 800 res, the bottom of the intro that shows skip is hidden and I have to scroll down.  Once past the intro, it’s all misaligned and without scrolling you can’t see any of the roll over text from the angel logo.  I use an alternative browser but when loading it up in IE with all the default bars turned on it looks all cut off and uneven.  IE at lower res is still the standard with most people unfortunately.
Here are screens of what it looks like at a very common screen setup.

Followtheangel.org stuff
This is merely my opinion but I feel I would share it.  I think the non FA section of the forums should be exposed (read only) even if you haven’t registered.  In addition any other non FA content maybe? I feel the “Welcome Back”, “Menu”, “Tor News” and stuff could add a little more extra content for would be passer bys?

Anyway just some thoughts.

Actually, IE with a lower resolution is probably the LEAST common thing now a days. I just looked up statistics, and Firefox has over 46% of the usage and I'm pretty sure I read once somewhere that more than 50% of resolutions are bigger than 1024x768.
