Here I'll post some things I've made we can throw out to the public to gain some intrigue if we'd like. Also, feel free to post your ideas for more.  Here's one I made in October, tweaked for the Faction.

FA SW:TOR Trailer - Bring Your Lightsaber



I have another on the way with the audio from Phantom menace, and was just thinking it could be real cool to make one with all the Ship names, with video depicting their definitions, ie Aequitas (Justice) and like a jedi taking out a sith, etc. So jot down your ideas or if your a ship captain how you'd want yours represented in something like that.

Not totally happy with this yet, but you get the idea. Not sure why the green flashes are there, but I'll fix that as well. Let me know what you think of the idea. Others we discussed were played over video of approaching a planet w/ moons, ie Iego. Or just a view looking up into the stars with the silhouette of a horizon or something, so it seems your view is from the ground on a planet looking to the sky.  Anyways, I'm tired, leave your suggestions.

Both trailers are getting an odd popping sound from the audio. Is that just me?

Thanks for the first one! It works very well! The second one does need some tweaking...I'm just trying to figure out in which direction. I don't like the current visual, but I think we can use the tone...at least in the beginning.

I was thinking we need an image of a beautiful woman for this, and luckily we have one - the Jedi from the new Hope trailer!

She shows up at about 2:40 in the movie. What I think would be interesting is to have the slow music going and some of the audio from the trailer you just posted combined with some of the slow-mo combat of her flying through the air in the video (around 2:50, 3:00, and 3:30). Then the video and audio would suddenly cut to either one of her force moves at 4:00 or 4:15 or her intro lightsaber yield at 2:45. Basically, my idea is this:

*slow music begins*
*shot of pretty woman jedi flying through the air in slo-mo, killing baddies*
*cut to black with audio "are you an angel? what?"
*cut back to a different shot of flying jedi woman*
*cut to black with audio "an angel - they're the most beautiful creatures in the universe*
*cut to maybe the slo-mo back flip of jedi woman*
*cut to black with audio "they live on the moons of Iego*
*sudden shift where music stops and jedi force attacks or yields lightsaber*
*end music from first trailer (exciting one) with same ending as first trailer as well (not the spinning of the saber, but the lightsaber coming out with the site underneath, join soon, etc.)

Some of this might work better the other way around (audio during the video) or maybe put something in the black between shots of the jedi, but you get the idea. What do you think? I like the idea of having the teaser with the fast-paced action and then the teaser with the slow-mo almost dance, though I think they should both end strong!

I like those ideas. After watching the second one again with an open mind this morning, it bored the crap out of me. Will work on it and the audio to both when i can.

Thoughts? I kinda like the idea of keeping this one mellow and serene while the other one has more of the action side to it. Obviously some tweaks left to make audio and video wise, but I actually like it a lot personally (Thanks Yotogi for the song)

I like the second one, without the planet.  My only suggestion would be to try fading in and out of black, rather than cutting to and from.  The quick cuts in and out of the black seems to go against the grain of the smooth and serene feel of the movie.

I love where this is going.

Yeah, I like the second one. The planet just makes me think we're watching a trailer for a Universal Studios movie from the 80s. I also agree with the fade.

I agree on both counts. Maybe you could have the beams of light be a bit more subtle in certain parts and more pronounced in other parts.

I really like both of the trailers, though. Very, very nice job, Adad. Superb music choice, too, Yotogi.

How about this maybe instead of fade to black you freeze frame it right before the voice and fade up to a white glow and then a whipe to next scene...

Or just freeze frame it and have it color fade to a white and glow before next scene...

I'll keep thinking

Not sure about ending on the "I think" either.... Though it really needs something else there.


Also I think there may need to be a scene switch...

I like the first sequence and the second... but I think you ought to have the flip over in sequence right before the last cut.  Just seems kind of off to me.  THough I think I know what you were going for and why it was that way.

Side Note:  The sound bites I had everyone listen to and vote on for the audio part of the challange I've been working on were all from the soundtrack to this movie.
