Just got an email 5 hours ago about this starting today, but this game is made by former Blizzard employees.

on Wiki it says: "Heroes of Newerth is a Real-time Strategy game made by S2 Games based on the Warcraft III scenario Defense of the Ancients otherwise known as (DotA)."

I would really have to push League of Legends more then HoN. LoL is made by the guys that actually made DotA, has been out of beta for awhile now, and is much MUCH more forgiving to the noobs in the game. It's completely free to play, and has a lot of replay value. I play all the time, add me as "lotier" if you do.

Oh wow, you know what, this whole time I was mistaking LoL for HoN in my mind......It's LoL that I've been wanting to try, but when I got this email yesterday about HoN Beta, and it's talk about DotA I was mixed up.. No wonder something seemed kind of off about their front page, I was thinking they changed something... Thanks man! I'll try to get that too and add you.

I heard about this too and wanted to check it out but simply never bothered. Thanks for posting it here, I'll definitely check both of them out more thoroughly. I still play WC3 frequently, and I've never really fully grasped the concept of DotA so I stay away from it. The community that plays it now expects pros, and I've honestly been too afraid to jump in with them and learn, haha. If either of these works out for me then I'll re-post with my username, which will inevitably be Orphaeus there as well. Hopefully this will yeild better results than my DotA experiences have so far.
