Absolutely beautiful shots.  Did you use any kind of lens filter on that first shot?  The colors are great.

No filters on the lens, some post in Lightroom. I have to admit, my wife edited these so I'm unsure exactly what was applied. Looks like a subtle bleach on the first, perhaps the second - and she's a huge fan of vignetting.

I'm seeing a ton of these 30-day picture things on facebook and think I want to do a version of it for my blog and photo site...

I need ideas though. What I'[m thinking is that I want to take a photograph each day for the month of May - but more than just "here's what I ate" or "Look, a duck!". I'd like them to be decent shots - with a limit of 2 types per week. For instance, each week I'll only have 2 portraits or 2 landscapes - no more; and never of the same item, place, or person. I'm forming ideas and guidelines for it now, but would love to get ideas from you guys. Manic, you up for doing this and see what we come up with?

Here's my first. I was in a rush because i was busy all day - so drove around looking for inspiration and snapped a quick one. It was night, I only had one lens and forgot my tripod at home so I'm not thrilled with it, but at least I'm sticking with it so far. (one day - lol)

I like your 30 days of pictures idea. I'm just too much of a hermit to really participate. It's why my posts in this thread are so sporadic. I don't like leaving the house if I don't have to.

Yeah, I'm the same way - that's why i decided to do this. In fact, I almost missed today. I had to go out for eggs and decided to take the camera out with (because i slacked all day) It's rainy, and night, I only had one lens and I left my tripod at home - so this was the best I could come up with.

I think I'll get to Thursday and say screw it and delete my May thread idea. lol
