Am loving this phone, but my hands are so cramped from trying to use this on-screen keyboard. It's FAST and the screen looks AMAZING. The voice recognition is decent for what it is. Helps my hands hurt less. Multi-touch is on the phone, just not on native apps. I use it on the Dolphin browser....not bad, but I doubt I'll use it.

For the price of the phn and the monthly service $100.00 I have yet to see the benefit that is worth it....as much as I'd love to get one.  As per another quote on the forums...."Fuck Google maps/nav!  Real men dont' need maps."  lol

Actually there is a whole discussion about the subsidised vs unsub costs here: http://www.nexusoneforum.net/forum/nexus-one-google-phone-news/180-nexus-one-pricing-unsubsidized-contract-comparison.html

Basicly anyways you cut it, paying the full $530 up front pays off over the subsidised plan between 12 and 17 months into the plan; well below the 24 month contractual obligation.
TM plans with unlm txt/data start as low as $60. Where do you get $100?

$100 per month is what they charge for their Even More for unlimited talk, text and data.

better check again. They have cheaper ones than that. Individual even more plus (txt/data) starts at 50 bucks. The family plan for 750 minutes and unlmt everything for 2 lines is only $109.

EDIT: ok, it's actually $60, not $50.

I agree with Fuse.

Enough of this modern touchy feely feelings bullshit.  Its a friggin' phone cockbreath.  If it functions as such, be happy.  If it doesn't get a new one.

If you want personality and feelings, get a damned dog.

I'm sure the author thinks that the iPhone has the personality and touch of his god Steve Jobs.

Don't believe everything you think.

Here is the thing though.  It's not just a phone.  It's way more than that.  It's no different than the attachment that people have to their computer or car.  It's a tool but for a lot of people it's something that helps them enjoy their life more.  For example... my iPhone is a phone but since I purchased it I use it for non phone related things WAY more than the number of calls I make.  Having a phone like this has actually changed my life.  I am WAY more connected to my friends and family than I ever have been.  I have access to the world and information to help augment my life more so than I ever did with my regular old nokia flip phone.  I have used the G1, myTouch, Blackberry, Droid, Nexus One and my iPhone and there still is no match in the quality and polish that the phone, software and apps have received.

We had this huge talk last night with Kevin Rose (I got to drink beer with him last night) about Android phones and the apps and the iPhone.  It is so common that once you let someone play with an iPhone, customize it with the apps that they like and then give them an Android phone they really "miss something".  That something is the extreme attention to detail and polish which I the the article meant by being "human".

I'm a VERY unbiased unloyal geek.  I will switch to AMD or Intel or nvidia to AMD (ati) depending who has the best product.  The iPhone by far is still the superior product hands down but I have no problem switching once something is better.  Android still is not better.
"To the darkened skies once more and ever onward."
