Good review here:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/04/nexus-one-review/

Industry politics aside, though, the Nexus One is at its core just another Android smartphone. It's a particularly good one, don't get us wrong -- certainly up there with the best of its breed -- but it's not in any way the Earth-shattering, paradigm-skewing device the media and community cheerleaders have built it up to be. It's a good Android phone, but not the last word -- in fact, if we had to choose between this phone or the Droid right now, we would lean towards the latter. Of course, if Google's goal is to spread Android more wide than deep, maybe this is precisely the right phone at the right time: class-leading processor, vibrant display, sexy shell, and just a sprinkling of geekiness that only Google could pull off this effortlessly.

Well I bought one complete with Lost Localhost etching. Will have to use it on POS EDGE for now-but I'm excited.

I currently have a BB 8310, so have never been on 3G. Most people got it this morning, but I got mine with etching, so it didn't ship until today. I'll have it tomorrow morning...About a 36 hour turnaround time from order to my door.

Yea. I'm going to either switch to TM, or if an ATT modle is announced relatively soon I'm going to give this one to my wife and get the full 3G one for myself.

I personally think the Droid is a better phone from a specs standpoint.

The Droid has 16GB right out of the box, the screen is slightly higher resolution, and there is a full keyboard. I'd say what holds back the Droid is only the processor which I believe is slightly inferior.

Don't believe everything you think.

Don't use AT&T  they are one of the worst cellphone providers.

What bad experience do you have with them? I have yet to find anything wrong with ATTs service. Never once have I had a dropped call, they don't lock down their service or cost nearly as much as Verizon. Verizon had WAY better data, but I also paid a shitton more too. I believe a large reason for complaints to any carrier (and EVERY carrier has people saying they're the worst) has more to do with location than a company wide issue.

I'm definitely going to miss my hardware keyboard...
Everyone I've seen that has both says the screen on the N1 looks more crisp than the Droid does. For me I like the form of the N1 to the boxy-looking Droid.

Really I consider the N1 just 'another option' to the Droid, not some mass improvement. In my Jan 5th post over at lostlocalhost.com I finished up with saying "unless this Jan 5th announcement is game-changing and will result in more wireless freedom, lower costs, or a huge jump in innovation - I think whatever it is could be a flop, or at least highly over-hyped."
While this is a great phone and one of the top ones available (certainly an improvement for me) I would still consider it over-hyped.

(I retain the right to take that back if I get it tomorrow and it cooks, cleans, and give backrubs)

There is actually a thread on nexusoneforums.net specifically asking about the differences.
http://www.nexusoneforum.net/forum/nexus-one-general-discussion/362-droid-vs-nexus.html

The best reply so far...

Quote
We have both, love both, but have some comparisons.

Ergonomics
The Nexus is almost exactly the same height and width, but decidedly thinner. It's corners are rounded, the bottom end a bit tapered, and it has a Teflon coating that gives it a slight rubbery feel.

The Nexus is quite lighter. Personally I like the density of the Droid, but I would say the Nexus isn't so light that it feels like a toy. It feels high-tech.

The screens are the same size of course, though the Nexus falls short of the Droid by 54 pixels on the long axis of the screen.

If I turn off "Auto brightness" and set both at 50%, the Nexus' screen is dramatically brighter. Although the contrast difference is substantial, I can't claim it is subjectively "better," because I really like the Droid's screen and contrast ratio.

The soft-buttons at the bottom of the screen are not as sensitive as on the Droid. Sometimes I have to press Home 2 or 3 times for it to notice I did so.

Performance
When running basic apps, such as swiping the home screen side to side, I see no real difference. Google searches (same network, etc.) are identical. Market and other basic apps are about the same; sometimes the Droid wins by a blink, sometimes the Nexus.

However, if I run more intensive apps, such as our Imagine Multi-touch, I notice a significant decrease in lag on some operations, such as switching between 2d thumbnails and 3d billboard view. Sometimes, the difference is about 50% (Nexus wins over Droid).

Subjective Conclusion
If I had a Droid, I would NOT get a Nexus. The user experience will be VERY similar, once the Droid has 2.1. If I had a MyTouch or other 1st generation Android device, I would upgrade if I used my phone a lot.

Honestly, I can choose to use either phone (Droid/Nexus) as my daily phone, and I am undecided.

OK my friend works for them so I think he would know. If he used them he would have gotten a discount. He told me it still wasn't worth it. My mom also worked for them she said the same thing.
