OK gang.

Here goes.

Poor Tbone has been talking to a brick wall latley (namely me) about getting this site public.  But it looks like we're finally gunna do it.  This means outisders will limited acess to some of our site and forums.

OK but this thread is going to be a todo list for me... and for you.  Yes you!  I ain't doin ALL the work.

So, on that note.  Here is what I need from you guys.  

First I need to know... What blocks and items do we NOT want them to see.

Second...  I need someone to make an image like the one on the front of the site (click jack_out) to see what I mean.  This image is going to have to be no more then 129 pixels wide and VERY nice looking.  It will be the image they click to follow the angel.

Third...  I need someone to create 9 new 13x13 gifs.  They will represent the buttons on the top of the forums.  FAQ   Search   Memberlist   Usergroups  Etc.

here are all the ones you need to replace.  Right mouse click and download them all below.   DONE!











they need to be exactly 13x13 and named EXACTLY the same.  Case does matter.  

I would like them to be all Matrixy and fit our forum color scheme.  Be creative!!!

What kind of time frame you looking at? I'm gonna be gone starting Sunday for a week, but I can help out before and after that, just tell me what you need.

Obviously, the ships need to be private, and also the members list, since the number of people actually with us is one of the most mysterious things about the FA.

Also, 129 pixels on the angel pic? In my mind, that's kinda small, maybe you you could give an idea on layout, because a landscape picture is the only kind that will look right, I think..here is a scaled down version of the original @ 129x73 pix

I think the forums should remain completely locked. We could, perhaps, add one general forum that anyone could browse... but all the originals should be locked, IMO.  

The images should probably be locked as well... or at least, the crew member images. I trust all you guys. I don't trust the general public.

Having a news page that only us FA can see would probably be a good idea too. We don't want everyone and their momma seeing that the FA were accepted into beta. (Let's hope.)

speaking of which, the news article headlines can be viewed by the general public as an RSS feed using a reader like Pluck. I found this out when trying to finish the challenge.

Those look great.  Wanna zip em and send them to me?

We'll try them on for size.  And image has to fit into one of the side blocks... but it looks like we wont need it.

So put that on hold.

Dude, likwid *shakes head* Anyway I agree with the complete end of our forums, and with the images of our crew. But I also would like to see that our sigs remain ours, so I think that we should either create an alternate image gallery for the public, or just totally block off ours. Of course it works if we do both things at once.

I do beleive that they're going to need a forum, AND this will help us on people piecing apart our test one by one on the forums. If they do that on our forums, we can just mod and delete the post.

why are we opening up in the first place...thats what i dont understand. we dont really need publicity. i think we have enough of it, having to deal with the children that want to hack our site. i enjoyed the idea of secrecy, no reason to blow our cover now.  we have continious members coming in every day, what was it tbone? 3-5 a day now. but thats just my opinion. lol i wanted this clan to have full advantage when the game comes out, so lets keep up the good work

Keep our signature area blocked from public, we will have random people not even in MxO community using it for signature hosting.

I think we could make a branch off site that they could reach, so it has a background for us and some forums that the public can enjoy.  I don't think that if they came here it would be too bad, but I can't help feeling that we would get a load of flamers.  So I like the idea of a branch off site.
