Recommended App - Phonespeex

Attention all iPhone users!

If you have an iPhone, I highly recommend you fork over $5 for the Phonespeex app. This application was on my top 5 "wish my phone could do this" list. It allows you to connect to our Teamspeak server on your phone and listen and chat in whatever way you'd like. We've tested it, and the quality is superb!

There are many settings depending on how you want to use it. You can use voice activation and send audio to receiver to talk on TS like you were talking to everyone on your phone or you can choose push to talk and send audio to speaker to put it in front of you and listen while doing something else. I even plugged my headset into my phone and talked on TS while driving in my car!

We highly recommend this so that you can participate in interviews when you are not at home and so that when you need to check to see if an event has started yet, you can just login quickly from your phone!

Well if I was an apple fan boi and had no life or job and had 2 months to wait for apple's approval I might have developed this a long time ago. (Trillian has been waiting two months for apple to approve their software port and they have heard nothing in two months. Thousands of dollars and jobs are on the line and apple doesn't care.)

And what good is this if you can't run apps in the background? I need to check my browser or calendar for something, whoops I gotta close my TS app! I guess real time embedded scheduling was a concept that was beyond apple's conceptual grasp.

Supposedly this can also be used by those with iPod Touch 2nd Gen as long as they have a headphone with mic capabilities.  So I may do a little research to see if it is worth my $5.

Makes me sad that I can't listen to music while I wait for people to join TS.

Yeah you would think that such a 'robust' and 'top-of-the-line' and 'modernistic' smartphone OS would allow you to walk and chew gum at the same time.

But then again the most successful products are the most simpleminded.

It's actually because PhoneSpeex works like an incoming/outgoing call.

And the iPhone doesn't play music during calls.
