Hey now, I have fond memories of growing up in SoCal :-/ Believe me when I say that Sacramento and Lemoore are the respective armpit and asshole of California.

I'm not saying it was always a craphole, but in it's current state isn't too attractive. I keep an open mind though.

Oh I am so game, and I'm looking for excuses to go visit my relatives in Cali next summer (Just in time for the San Diego Comicon)

I don't know if having a 16 yr. old attending would handicap you guys, but I'd love to show up if I wasn't in the way.

As long as your parents dont need to meet one of us, I think it'd be fine. =) We didn't barhop in DC either but still had a blast.

Ok guys and girls.. I have gotten my taxes back.. I have set aside some for this trip.. should we start hammering out dates and such? I think so.. I am mad I missed get together 2009.. im not missing this one!!!!


Also,, if we wanted to do this around comic-con weekend we need to get those tickets NOW because the only ones not sold out are Thursday and Sunday.. =(

I'm in for the meetup. However, I can't afford comicon tickets for me as well as my girls. This trip is supposed to be rather low budget.

The girls just want to hang out on the beach, and I just want to hang out with you guys.

Well looks like those two, plus Manic's ladies in LA. My house is kinda small, so we may have to splurge for a hotel. If we time it right so that my roomate goes back to France we can have that spare room for Manic and co, and then I've got a couch, of course. Looks like it's going to shape up to a weekend hanging out with FA people on the Venice beach, maybe do some touristy things in Hollywood, Heiro wants to go to Comic-Con, so perhaps that, although I don't know much about it.

At this rate T will need to be "sponsored"...lol. Both of my jobs right now are theatre jobs, and apparently two jobs where you don't make much money don't quite add up to one job where you make a lot of money.

Comic-Con is July 22-25.. the only tickets left are for sunday the 25 and they are 20 bucks for adults a piece.

Tickets for me in Atlanta to LA runs about 340 at the end of July.. it goes down considerably (70 bucks) second week in August.. Either way timeframe is really up to the host, imo..
Plus there is a lot to do in LA besides it being relatively close to Vegas, right Lits?

actually the time frame is completely up to you guys, with the exception of the last week of August-first week of September... I'll be in the middle of the Nevada desert, God willing. My roomate moves out mid July, however, if you wanna take that into consideration. Just because she's French doesn't mean she's cute, but it DOES mean she's a huge pain in the ass.

And yes, LA is roughly 4 hours drive time from Vegas, plus there is Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood Blvd, the Sunset Strip, Malibu, Disneyland and plenty of beaches and hiking in the mountains. I live two blocks from Venice Beach, so that would obviously be the cheapest attraction. I heard the other day that even Compton is getting in on the tourist industry with "gang tours" I kid you not. Let's please try to avoid interest in THAT one.
