Seriously... I emailed the SOB when the thing went down and he said he'd take a look at it.  I would've taken it straight into a shop, but he has previously said if I ever needed help to give him a call and he'd help me out.

Now when I tell people that it means I'm gonna help them out.

So he emails me back and forth a bit and was sure he'd be able to look at it Thur. or Fri. at the latest.  He was going to call me... Today is Saturday...  I have not heard from him

The pissy thing is he knows I'm coming  by his house this Sunday anyways for some unrelated stuff so it's not like he's not gonna see me, and it's not not like he doesn't know that when I see him I'm still gonna have computer issues, and it's not like he doesn't know I'm going to be pissed off that he hasn't done what he said he was going to do.  

I mean come on... What's he think is going to happen when I show up on Sunday and he asks me how things are going.  I'm going to just say oh swell except you haven't done what you said you were going to do.

This is a classic example of why I hate people.

Look like I am going to have to just order a new powersupply, pay an extra 30-40 bucks to have it shipped over night and hope that the power supply is what is really wrong with it...

I guess I'm going to go with a 750 W power supply... That's a downgrade from the 850 I have but I think it should still run my system.  Or I guess I should say I hope it still runs my system.

All I know is that if it's not the power supply I'm taking the 30-40 bucks for overnight shipping out of someone's ass

Well nothing ships out today anyways... So best I could do would be to have it shipped out overnight on Monday and hope it arrives on Tues.  

I don't know what do you guys think... Here is what the system is doing.

Over the past few months I've been having problems with the monitor kicking on after powering down the computer.  I can hear the hard drive power up, and the fans, but the montior doens't kick on.  It has power and I've switched out connectors but nothing.

I can reboot and initially after about 10 attempts the system would kick back on as normal,  then it took about 20 attempts, and this last time it won't kick on at all.  

It seems to start to boot up with the fans all kicking on but it doesn't.  It can' be just the monitor because if it was I'd still hear the computer kick on and boot up but it doesn't.  

My worthless friend said that it sounded like the power supply was dying.  Which seems right to me because I end up loosing one every 2 years or so and it's been about that long since I've had this one.

I know this is a bit late considering you've already got your computer in pieces but how about plugging your computer into a separate circuit in your house.  If you consistently blow power supply's it might be a voltage issue in your home.

Might also be worth running your computer through an uninterruptible power supply. In addition to being a battery backup during blackouts, I'm fairly certain most have voltage regulators in the case of dropouts/brownouts and what not.
