Here's the writer talking about the story challenges of making the Jedi Knight.

So the million dollar question is, as a faction will we be the kind which upholds the true virtues of the jedi and use only logic and reason to guide our decisions; or do we lay the smack down on the sith as the renegade's who have no problem with a little wetwork?

I'm leaning toward the latter.

Bottom line we should come to an agreement as a whole on which way to go, because it looks like in this game it will truly make a difference.

I agree with Yotogi, I'm gonna be the 'fuck everything' Jedi; metaphorically and... uh... physically >.<. Nothing screams 'BAD ASS' more than a Jedi who doesn't abide to the rules given to him/her.

Agreed, it's way more our "style" to be the renegade/rebel. We can certainly do so while maintaining out professionalism and flair, we don't have to be the Templars of SWTOR to stay true to our playstyle. However, one minor conflict with that playstyle is the lore of the SW universe (at least as far as the movies and main media portrays it). As a Jedi in Star Wars you are either righteous and meditative, or you are (or eventually will become) a sith. In order to play as the "I'll do what I want" Jedi, we have to take that into account, because according to Lucas, any remotely corrupting influence can turn one to the dark side, and we're trying to stay blue.

I am by no means saying that it's impossible, infact I look forward to the challenge, but I am saying that it could build some contradictions if we don't plan ahead. To summarize though, my vote is the same as Yotogi's, because I like being a badass.

I mean if you compare it to MxO we remained faithful to Zion at all times and did whatever it took for the greater good of Zion. We didn't join the Kid when he started his fanaticism which I think would be similar to following the Jedi code and council to the letter... We are more the grey area that gets things done as long as it benefits the greater good.

So to compare it to WoW, the Consulars play as the "mage" archetype of SWTOR, with the Inquisitors serving as their counterparts. From what I understand, they study the force for it's own sake rather than using it to accompany their light saber skills.

Thus, assuming I interpreted it correctly, Jedi Knight = Paladin, Jedi Consular = Priest/Mage?

Sounds fun!

Going by lightside, it could be broken down like this:

Trooper = tank
Jedi Knight = 'monk' class (i.e. is an agility tank, but are also good dps too)
Jedi Consular = mage / healer
Smuggler = dps

Or to compare to MxO, it sounds kinda like...

Trooper = Rifleman
Jedi Knight = MA
Jedi Consular = Hacker
Smuggler = MKT

The JK seems more like a Tank to me than the Trooper, but I may need to read over the descriptions again.

I know it would serve little purpose, but I'm sort of hoping for Dagobah to show up. I always loved Yoda's planet in the movies, and the swamps would be a fun place to explore. If I had to vote on another to be added, I'd pick Dagobah in a second.

They have a lot of back story on Dathomir and you hear a lot about it in the books. I hope they tie in a lot of it with that planet.

I placed the Trooper in the "tank" category because their whole philosophy is 'the better my armor, the more hits I can take, and in turn, the longer I can outlast someone'....jedi knights come across as the agility tank (hence monk) cause they're focused more on dodging / acrobatic moves....although there's really no clear cut description between them....either way I'm sticking to trooper and will rifle butt anyone in my path, sith or otherwise.  XD
