Darkfall Has Rough Start, But Server Open

It's past 3 a.m. here where I am, and we've finally managed to create characters and login to the game. The game patch is over 350MB, and the patch server is swamped, so expect a slower than normal download.

We were able to play about 30 minutes before the server crashed out. It's down right now, which is why I'm posting.

So the Kobolt area we are farming in is swarmed with players, but so is the Goblin spawns. With just Lith and I there (everyone else was still patching or traveling to get there), we were still able to somewhat claim a small spot and start killing. With more of us there, we can probably claim a larger spot and dissuade people from farming in that area. We won't have the whole place to ourselves, that's for sure, but it's the best we got and everyone will be going through the same struggle.

Obviously there's a few problems still. Server was pretty laggy, especially compared to Beta. And now it's crashed out and we're not sure when it's coming back up. The forums are still down as well. I imagine now that they've gone live, they'll try to have as little downtime as possible. Hopefully it'll be back up soon, but it's looking unlikely that we'll accomplish any major tasks tonight.

Well, after waiting 12 hours for it to finally have servers pop up (3 patches later), The servers crashed as I was making my character.  Afterwards, I was never let back in although everything was patched.... URGH

Is it just me or does it seem like this game is having an exceptionally rocky start.  I know it's typical for MMO's to stumble a bit in their beginnings, but it seems like some invisible force is just kicking DF while it's down.  

Either way, I'll see if I can finally update my billing info tonight.

Last night they mentioned that they would re-open game sales around 12 pm their time (6 am FA time). Has this happened yet, and if so how do I get in on it ASAP?

Update from the website:

"...we’ll open up account management later tonight for these accounts to be able to correct their account data and credit information before we reprocess them. If anyone does not want the pre-order to be processed, they should remove their credit card information from their account. After this is concluded we should be able to open up sales for more Darkfall copies."

Please remember to add at least 24 hours to any given time or date stated in order to get a more realistic time frame. Heh.

Yes. I apologize for my rant before, I was just insanely frustrated and tired, but in reality, I don't think any MMORPG can launch without some snags.  Hopefully we'll get more members in today and have the gaming experience I hoped for yesterday.  Let's get at it.

They've officially been working for 16 hours on the sync issue now. (1 hour break when they opened the servers to test it on the general public around 7am FA).  Hoping they open them back up asap with it all resolved.
