I'll most likely be focusing on ranged/stealth; it seems to be the most fun and I absolutely despise the ridiculous abundance of polearms.

Ranged really isn't that bad... If you do the Kobold quest it's not that hard to pick up a hundred or so arrows in an arrow.  You'll just need to level up bowery and start farming wood...

Really ranged for Merdain is a good way to go because we start out with a bonus to our ranged damage.  Plus ranged seems to do alot of damage and levels quicker than magic.

I guess all that I had posted here before was "Mirdain"...  to clarify, I've specialized in the following:

Mirdain

Combat:
Primary: Polearms, Sword/Shield :  supplement with archery
Secondary: some lesser magic

Crafting:
Logging, Herb Gathering, Mining
Herbalism
Plan on picking up alchemy for major pots and some enchants.

I guess I should update as well:

Human

Combat:
Primary: One-Handed Sword
Secondary: (although this skill is much higher than my sword skill): Bow
Backup: Daggers

I plan on eventually mastering all bladed weapons.

Crafting:
Primary: Weaponsmithing
Secondary: Bowery
Thirdary: woodcutting
