Perfect World

Fed up with the game my brother and I were playing, I did a lot of research looking for a different FREE MMORPG. I came across rave reviews for a game called Perfect World. I spent a day downloading and my brother and I installed the game.

Simply put, so far it is the best free MMORPG I've ever played, including games that were free because they were in beta. The graphics are pretty amazing. The character customization is more detailed than any other customization I've seen.

My brother and I chose to be Elf Archers on the Oracle server. Now I know if you're like me, killing rats with swords is not the type of world you wanna be in. This game, however, provides a lot of interesting features that make it fun. First of all, as an elf, you start out able to fly - and the flying is really easy to control and looks awesome. Also, the game is very quest driven, so instead of grinding on the same monster watching your XP bar slowly go up, you can load up up to 20 missions at a time, complete tasks, and get great xp rewards for it.

The skill system so far is really cool and it seems like there's a lot of customizable upgrade type things. Since leveling is quest based, my brother and I are flying through levels together (we started last night and are now both almost level 14). Starting at level 30 you can PvP, and it seems to be a lot like Vector MxO. Also, you can form guilds and take over territories. Everywhere I've been so far when I enter it tells me the name of the place and "Currently controlled by ReBorn".

Seriously, even if you don't like the "elf/ogre" type of games, try this out. I'd love to get enough of you interested to start the faction up in this game. I highly recommend going elf (my brother and I were talking about how the other races simply can't be as cool...there's no way), and that a way we can come power level you (easy to do since it is a quest system). I'm hoping this can be a good game to keep us occupied until The Agency. We'll have to see how the later levels are, though.

The ONLY downside to the game I've run into so far is it's an import from Chinese, so a lot of the English is broken English and makes some of the newbie instructions hard to understand.

This game is soooo addicting. The world is huge. My brother and I have been flying around and running into these floating cities and whatnot. It's crazy! I haven't done anything solo, so I don't know how soloing is, but teaming up on these quests is fun!

Controls are very easy for me. You can choose WASD or point and click. All the binds are on the left hand too, so it frees up the right to stay on the mouse most of the time. Who the hell uses the arrow keys to move anymore??? WASD is where it's at!

Oh, and I'm almost level 30 and I've formed FA. I'm surprised more of you haven't at least tried it out. I guess we've lost a lot of you to console gaming recently...

I tried it, however the controls and the overall layout of the missions and the interaction and finding NPC is just a little .. downgraded from what im used too. *shrugs*

Really? Their quest system is twice as good as MxO's. At least they send you into new areas to kill/collect, as opposed to doing the same mission over and over again in the same three buildings.

And yeah, it's free. I'm about to hit level 30 and apparently PvP is VERY prominent. There are territories to take over and you can get ganked. Just seemed like a good environment for us to work on our teamwork skills and whatnot. It just feels like everyone is playing a different game nowadays.

oh i agree T. I will play regardless, its just soloing im kinda confused.
