The Oracle is dead

An interesting twist.  She knew it must have been coming, and she can escape detection if she needs to, so there's obviously a reason for it.

"I made a choice, and that choice cost me more than I wanted it to."

"Do you recognize me?"
"A part of you."
"Yeah, that's how it goes.  Some bits you lose, some bits you keep."

In all actuality, this has absolutely no impact.  She will be back.  Just like Morpheus, just like Smith.

Hmm, the game isn't too popular. Maybe if we kill another recognizable and well-loved character, people will jack in again!

Hrmm...

Morpheus and Smith are back in the game?

Why wouldn't something like the Oracle dying be a bigger thing. This seems pretty small for the death of the Mother of the Matrix.

Morpheus sim..."acts" like Morpheus.

Oracle2.0... reborn and overwritten, now kills Zion with poisonous cookies.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's something that stupid, knowing SOE

Why would killing off The Oracle want me to come back? Now it's just the same old MxO, but without her.

That's the real tragedy.  There are no surprises in this game anymore.  And when there are, it's something the majority of the community gets angry about (i.e. farming sticks of gum in exchange for HJB and Mobius Code).

The fall of the truce was really the last big thing, but even the novelty of that fizzled after the first week.  The same people that re-subbed after Chapter 8 have already left again.  Now we're back to regular old MxO, except now we get random Agent spawns outside of Richland.

Way to go out with a bang -.-

The real question is this: Whos going to die next? Seraph? The Merv?

In my honest opinion I think that eventually she'll come back along with Neo and they'll make some giant event to end it all. It'll be interesting to see what the community does after all the main characters are either dead or 'incapacitated'

the same thing it's doing now: slowly dying off one by one.

Part of me thinks it's just an excuse to not have to worry about re-hiring the original voice actors, or even hiring new ones.  With the cinematics gone, they really have no reason to put money into that kind of stuff anymore.  I'm guessing they've used up most of the pre-recorded stuff that they got done while the game was still in development.
