I think there is another thread on this somewhere...but I'll bite.

When I applied for MxO beta I made a long list of names that were techie related. I didn't want to use my current nickname at the time, Rubix. I had a list of about 10 names when I thought of Fuse. It can be thought of as techie as in an electrical Fuse controlling the flow of power to a machine, or as the catalyst of an explosion. After the sucess of being "DJ Fuse" it really just stuck and now even in the places where I use to be Rubix, I'm now known as Fuse.

Yes Broin started this same thread in like 1985 but very few current members posted on it, so this works.

Due to everyone in The Matrix universe essentially being named for ancient Greek, Roman, or Bible gods or heroes, that's where I looked first.  I was in a mythology course when Beta hit so I went into the appendix of one of my books and found Ares and Adad.  Ares was one of those off limit names, so I went with Adad (Not even thinking about the fact it sounds like I'm just bragging that I am a dad, which I am not but constantly made fun of in game.)

Anyways, the name ironically is perfect since I got in FA as Adad was the guardian of Heaven, the bringer of storms, and the giver and taker of life in Ancient Greek mythology I believe.

I tried about 100 names while on aim with Pirus and all of them where taken or restricted. The last one i tried was safire, which was taken. I didn't want to be one of those XinsertnamehereX rsi's, So i just added a couple letters in and Safirina was born.
At least i think that's how it went. It's been a long time. and I have a bad memory. :S

I just pulled this name out of the air when thinking of a Matrix-y type name for a create-a-wrestler I made in WWF Attitude (or War Zone maybe?) on N64.  It was originally "Jek", but I added in the Y because it looked more original for whatever reason.  I wanted to use "Teck", but that was the name of some retard on Real World at the time.

I've used it since then because it's never taken.

In the 2004 film King Arthur, actor Ray Stevenson portrays the knight Dagonet as a compassionate and selfless warrior. He is tall and silent, but you know he's got a lot on his mind. He rescues and protects a small child and in the face of overwhelming odds, sacrifices himself to save his friends.

That and I think battle axes kick ass (my weapon of choice if get into a medieval fight :-p)

Tohryanse is the name of the tune which plays at the crosswalk in the "Beyond" section of The Animatrix.  It is a traditional Japanese children's song, sung to help ancestors pass on through.  It literally means "pass on through" and was to reflect the passive nature of my character (most of the time).

As for Destyn, that's just a name I've been using for the past 14 years in various bulletin board admin capacities.  A few years ago some girl registered the domain and inadvertantly started getting my hate mail (Xbox Live clan war stuff).  She wasn't impressed.  Which is tough, because she was about two years old when I started using the tag.

My name came from when I was younger I used to record and preform Hip-Hop music at clubs. Also, I recorded and preformed gospel rap for churches and youth groups up to 1,500 people in a crowd. I liked the name and it's stuck with me ever since.

When I started playing, I was an Arcade Game Technician.  I tried all different versions of Technician.  Tech, Technic, Techniq, etc.  Originally when I stared playing, it was cause a buddy of mine told me to check it out, so my first character was Tecknic (or Technik, don't remember off the top of my head), but was on Enumerator because I didn't know what server he was.  He told me it was hostile, so I picked one of the two available.  After I found out he was on Hueristic, I created Tecknik. :)

I think this is the third or fourth time this topic has been on the website, and like before I don't give out my story, a few of the older members should remember it, a lot of people guess it, it is pretty easy. Well at least the first meaning. It has two different meanings.

But I do remember when I finally came up with it, I was getting tired of my old handle, neo3333, because Neo was really popular and seemed childish and I started to develop a distaste for numbers in handles. I spend weeks trying to come up with a sitting in Social Studies, finally I came up with Eroz. And started trying to use it in forums, and almost always I can take Eroz outright, sometimes Eroz is too short for a username and I take Erozz, and if Eroz is already taken I settle for Er0z, and then complain because the person who always takes Eroz, never uses the damn thing.

The only song I have that I did and semi-like (because I'm self conscious) about how I sound, is a gospel rap song. But other people seem to like it. If you want to hear it, just PM me and I'll send you the file.
