Question for all Photoshop Artists
« on: August 22, 2007, 06:04:39 pm »
Please take a look at the following image:

Could you give me some tips on how to remove the roughness to the gold texture?  That is not an intended effect.

Thanx, in advance.

blur lightly... um.. another way would be to make it double layered and make the top layer more opaque.. that would have the same blurred effect... without losing or skewing shading.. maybe.. I haven't tried it on an image like that before..

What type of image did you start with? I think if you can find a vector image out there then you can apply the appropriate details yourself pretty easily.

Much better.  That's good.  Did you use blur?

I duplicated the layer, completely blurred the the bottom one and then erased the logo from the top layer, making sure to keep the edges intact.  This let the blurred layerd shine through without making the entire image blurry.
