I think eHarmony finds someone close to your area - so it's not really online dating as much as it is skipping the process of weeding out the millions of skanky bar flies to find the one person at the bar who is looking for the same thing you are.

As for why we have trouble finding women... this equation is one that has existed for centuries:

# Women is indirectly proportional to how nice the guy is

So if we were to put this on a scale from 0 - 100...

If I am 100% nice, I will have 0% women
If I am 0% nice, I will have 100% women

There are other factors, like if you have a girlfriend. Basically multiply women % by 5 if you are taken.

Case in point...

Tonight I had two options. One girl came to see my show. Another girl works costumes for the show. Both were possible dates. I decided I needed to take action. I decided to ask the costume girl out for something to eat and she pretty much rejected me. Later that evening, I get a message from the girl I basically ignored saying we should go out sometime soon. Seriously...wtf...

The girl seems really excited to hang out with me...had a good conversation with her that makes me feel a little better about the other girl pretty much laughing in my face. Unfortunately this girl is leaving town in June...which totally explains why it all seems to be coming together all the sudden.

There is a rare curse put on a few people on this earth. It is the curse of bad timing. What's funny is that I've known this girl pretty much for the past 3 months. We've never really been able to set the wheels in motion...I thought she wasn't even interested. All the sudden out of the blue she shows an interest. But why?

Because of my bad timing. My chances of finding women increase with the bad timing factor. So I have three weeks top to try to enjoy what might be in this, assuming this first date goes well. Keep on laughing Fate...
