For those who may not be familiar with some of these candidates here is their websites along with their party affiliation.*

Mitt Romney(R) http://www.mittromney.com/HomePage
Rudolf Guliani(R) http://www.joinrudy2008.com/
Barack Obama(D) http://www.barackobama.com/
Hillary Clinton(D) http://www.hillaryclinton.com/
John McCain(R) http://www.johnmccain.com/
John Edwards(D) http://johnedwards.com/

*I tried to fit in all the candidates but the poll wouldn't allow that many options. So I'm only including the top 3 candidates for each party as well as an other option. If you choose other please elaborate.

Honestly anybody but Romney, Edwards, and Clinton I think would do a fine job as president.

Other people I'd like to see running for the Republicans are Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich.

Barack is the only Dem I would support though, because he's the only one that actually takes a position on any issue, even though I disagree with many of his viewpoints, at least he stands for something and isn't a moron, which is much more than I can say about the majority of Democrats in office currently.
If all the world's problems were solved today, what would you have left to do tomorrow?

I have to agree with you there Dag. I know first hand that Romney was a horrible Governor so there's no way I want him as president. Edwards pisses me off... he goes off on unimportant rants about how he grew up in a small town and poor. It's irrelevant and a desperate attempt to appeal to the average american. Clinton is extremely two faced. She says one thing and does another. She panders to crowds on a constant basis and contradicts previous statements.

I have to say I've always considered myself a moderate. I have always leaned to the right though. However, it seems the republic canidates thus far are just completely goes far right on all the issues. That just doesn't sit right with me. I was favoring John McCain until I found out he's commited to overturning Roe vs. Wade. I'm by no means for abortion. I actually am quite disgusted by it. However making it illegal after it's been legal for so long is not the way to eliminate it. We must work towards making abortion unnessicary through reform and technological research.

Barack Obama has so far been the only canidate that's impressed me. Not only does he have a tendancy to cross party lines and work with both parties on issues but he gets things done. His record is impressive for a junior senator. He's strong on defense, homeland security and military... which I like. Even though it's still early I'm gonna have to throw my hat in with Obama.

I'm well aware he doesn't have a chance in hell, but that's precisely why I like him.

By the way, who the hell voted for Hillary. Fess up now or forever be shunned!!!

hahahahah. I didn't realize how close those two looked alike!

I think the Republican candidates are weak. Going off of political trends within the last 140 or so years (and not on how the politicians stand on their issues), Romney would be the best candidate. Every candidate who has won the elections in the past 140 years (save Kennedy, who was almost royalty) has been a Governor of a state, a Cabinet member, or a military officer. Not a single person, again, save Kennedy, has gone straight from a position as Congressman to the Presidency since Abraham Lincoln (although you could argue President Harding, but he had Lt. Governorship experience... and his Presidency was terrible anyway, so he doesn't really count).

Hilary Clinton has the most name recognition, though, because she is connected to her husband. However, I doubt she'll win the nomination (and if she does, I have a feeling a Republican will win the election). Look at Bobby Kennedy. He was not able to win the '68 election based off of his name alone, even though the American people loved the Kennedy's.

However, I see a Democrat winning by a slim margin, I don't know who, but I'd rather have it be Obama then Ms. Hilary. If the 2006 elections are any indication of how the country is feeling, then I foresee a Democrat winning the election unless a new Republican can hit the scene or something a la the Swift Boat Veterans comes out against Obama/Hilary.

Huh... Wasn't he assassinated right after he had won the California primary?
