And that erases my first theory... don't know how this'll help finding him in Disneyland, but occassionally I hear a New Orleans accent leak through when he says words like "roof"... only he can't live in NO because who in NO is dumb enough to have a basement? HOWEVER: New Orleansisiananians are often confused with A. Canadians or B. Urban North Easterners (Brooklyn, Boston, Washington D.C) because they're accents are similar when faint or to untrained ears. I'm going to rule out Canada (because of all the jokes he used to make towards Styan) and stick with my theory that Broin works/lives in the Washington D.C area (possibly Richmond, VA). Also, he just sounds like my uncle who lives around there. The tension in his voice reminds me of someone who has to commute three hours to work everyday in traffic to go do a very important high stress job.

Soo... either he's a beurocratic ninja or ex-CIA working in the Pentagon.

Well last night when we were all playing CS:S I intentionally found a server based far north (Ontario) and gauged people's relative distances based on their latency. Based on the data, Broin is East of the Mississippi and South of the Mason-Dixon line.

Well I just don't understand then how he could be from Detroit for two reasons.
1. His latency should have been much better (unless he's on a shitty DSL connection)
2. Detroit is a shitty city to live in/around currently and I don't believe he'd want to raise children there.

Which leads me to believe that maybe he or his ISP are masking his IP address with one that points Detroit.

Given his knowledge of computing technology and profession, and that some ISP's do this already it's not impossible.

I mean just checking some CS:S servers there were some that I knew the physical server was located in VA or NJ while their public IP address would put them in Kansas or Seattle.

There were several possible locations, you haven't got the right one yet.  As you know it's not uncommon for an ISP to route through several hub areas.  Of course, there's guesswork and there's homework, isn't there

That IP trace puts me in Atlanta, Georgia. Another one puts me in Roanoke, though. Not very reliable.
