CS:S Anyone?

steam name Safirina and take it easy on me guys, I am not an fps player, so I'm going to suck at this game for a long time lol

This is a fake FPS. The hit boxes are terrible and do not actually represent what a real FPS would be like.

Yeah the hit boxes are screwy in this game for a variety of reasons. You aim and someone's head and the game thinks you hit his arm. You aim for center mass and it hits his head. You aim for anything else and you'll be lucky to hit the person at all. Crouching and guns that can zoom help make your shots more centered, but Broin can tell you all about how unrealistic this game is and Sorrows can tell you the game name should be BS:S ^_^

I agree. I was telling that to Safi last night. Counter-Strike: Source is pretty random. I still, to this day, prefer CS 1.6 (actually 1.3 I miss my bunny hop ) Anyone wanna play CS 1.6 where Im even more accurate? Lol  Ya know guys, BattleField 2 is pretty fun too. Anyone have BF2? Me and a couple of RIP's play that game and BF2142. 2142 I dont like as much cause, I dunno, it's kinda slow paced. BF2 gets your heart pumpin.

I've got BF:2 and the Special Forces expansion.  I think CS:S is a little more accessible for everyone, but if anyone wants to try for an FA BF:2 game, that would be nice.

I saw a video once of some sort of mod that showed the difference between the player model and the hitbox. It was either a few inches in front or behind the person, but even when someone is standing still, the hitbox was not lined up.

A warning to those who play when I do. I use the term BULLSHIT very VERY often. Cause after all if I don't win, it's not fair.

FYI everyone: the server will be shut down March 27th from 6 AM - 5 PM FAT due to hydro line maintenance in my back yard, they are shutting off the power in my house so yea, you can use logic to figure out why it won't be working.

I need to check in with whoever has been on the server over the past 3-6 days.  Has there been an un-playable amount of lag??

I have been having problems with it all night and no matter what I seem to do nothing is helping. If anyone has experienced any trouble it would help me pinpoint when things went wrong.

Ok, for those who are trying to join the server, it is now behind a router (upgraded due to security issues with dual NICs and firewall software), it is usually still running the only problem is (until I figure out which port is the broadcast port) it doesn't broadcast in the server browser.  You can still add sullycentral.game-server.cc to your favourites list and it will add the server, just you won't see the amount of players or the server name, and it will appear to not be responding (with a 2000 latency). However you should still be able to double click to join the server.


EDIT:  to see if the server is running and join fairly easily... visit:

Click the 'Connect Now' button... I've modified the code to point to the Non LAN address.
