All I want for Christmas is a connection...
« on: December 20, 2006, 01:39:14 pm »
I'm trying to set up my computer here at my parents, and I have to connect their cable to my computer (because I didn't bring a router/splitterthingy) and it's causing problems with the TV... does anyone have a suggestion? Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Wait, explain the situation better, and by router do you mean a Cable modem?

yeah the black thingy...

okay, in moving the cable connection from my parent's computer to mine (just taking the ethernet (sp?) cable from that computer and putting it in mine) the connection is established, but the TV goes haywire... the TV cable connection goes nuts, and in a house with two little kids, that's not an option to interupt Frosty the Snowman IV.

I'm absolutely clueless what the difference in my parents' compu and mine is, I don't know how it interupts the TV cable cable, I'm just baffled.
