On another note, I read through that entire thread. We need to start taking screenshots of everything. Bullshit there was a 70% Zion presence. I was frankly quite scared when I first entered that room; it was a SEA of red. Remind me to start taking screenshots from now on.

OMG LESIG corruption! Stop sharing intel with me! Sploitz! The funny thing is if we do have someone in FA who is on LESIG, I guarantee they keep a tighter lid on going ons than anyone else in LESIG. I've even seen the "list", and I can't remember exactly who from FA was on it (er, if any).

'Trinity' already has that market cornered.  People will bitch about us for as long as the game exists.  No need for us to give them a legitimate reason.

Besides, I like hearing their conspiracy theories.  It wouldn't be as funny if Tbone really was Andy Wachowski.

Calm down, this isn't anything new. Us old folks have dealt with this sinse soon after beta. You just have to have a good sense of humor about it.

Otherwise it's like defending yourself against a 3 year old.

My communication with this individual continues. It seems he actually feels sorry for the fact that FA gets crap when they are in events, but I'm not sure that changes the fact that we might be excluded on purpose. Here is my most recent message to this person:

"Ok, I think I did misunderstand you. At first I thought you were saying we didn't deserve to be in events because of the reaction it has. The truth is my guys work hard to seek out events and participate in character the whole time. We all enjoy putting on our whites and acting out the whole thing. My fear is that reactions like this from the community might discourage event people from including FA. We worked hard in the beginning to develop relationships with event characters (back when there was still a LET). Once those guys got fired, though, everyone had to start from scratch. It seems we're often times fighting an uphill battle to re-establish those relationships because the general consensus seems to be "Oh, FA gets special treatment and always get the best in events". Because of our past successes in events, it makes future involvement harder, due to scrutiny. In other words, I fear there could be favortism against FA in order to keep complaints to a minimum. Idealy I wish there wasn't favortism at all - that there was an equal opportunity for people, especially factions, to get contacted and participate.

For example, I imagine the LESIG liasons have primary contacts to get events in motion - players or factions of their organization that are usually online and willing to participate. Those not on the primary list are hopefully contacted peripherally, through word of mouth or random appearances to attract a crowd. FA always seems to have to find out about events through someone else, or peripherally. Logically, however, FA is a strong Zionite faction with plenty of contacts. I would think we would be on the primary contact list, yet we never seem to be contacted.

The fact that we do still make it to events is a result of our dedication (kinda tooting my own horn, but it's really my members that make it possible), and while that is rewarding, you can imagine the disappointment of not being invited in the first place. It's funny that people seemed to complain about FA showing up to an event that they "weren't invited to", because that's generally what we have to do anyway.

Granted this go round we were contacted. Broin was used as a hacker for Zion, and we even got a cool faction broadcast from Ghost. I think that's the first time I have ever seen a faction broadcast...do Mervs get them a lot? Anyway, we participated in the event, had a good time, and didn't do anything disruptive or even out of character. For all practical purposes, I think FA's involvement in an event not only is a good thing, but often times enhances the experience. It feels like that's getting overshadowed by a few bad apples' attempt to harass FA every time they are mentioned. I guess we feel the event planning equation is usually Less FA = Less Problems, which while technically may be true, doesn't give a balanced and equal opportunity for those in FA to participate.

Anyway, sorry I seem to be complaining to you. I guess your comments simply put me a bit on the defensive. We aren't needy - I guess we just hope that everyone has to work equally for participation, rather than us having additional obstacles to overcome to be put on the same footing as other Zionite factions. With the comments that were flying around, it made me aware that FA could be intentionally overlooked, which was something that had not really occurred to me before."
