i'm taking the old tv with me when i move, but i still want to use my computer as a dvd player.  the problem is the tv only has video and audio in.  i have output for s video and a couple of other things that can be seen here http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9200/en/om/D51691LRs.pdf on page 17.  so the question is, is there any way to connect my computer to my tv?

So you're trying to take S video and plug it into a TV that only takes composite? You need to buy the right cord for it. I did the same thing and got a cord that starts out with audio and s-video and ends with audio and the two composites. There are also splitters and other various expensive video plugy thingies.

I have one of those cables, you first need to make sure that your computer can support TV-out mode, otherwise you can't get the display of the computer on the TV (That I know of (see below)), but you can make some pretty flickers.

Below: My laptop has a S-video out cable and I wanted to do what your doing, but I can't get the card (onboard Intel chip) to support TV-out (or force TV-out mode) even thought Intel says it can. If your TV is a newer TV it can directly support the moniter but normally those have a S-video on them already.

hah what i did i went to radio shack and got a R/F swith can plugged it in.

Run S-video to switch and then you use jsut regular cable to connect to tv, this could also be used for video games or whatever else you want, they even have the big switchs for video games where you can hook up like 5 consoles and just press a button when you want to switch consoles.
