I've never been a big Superman fan.

Anyway, I liked it.

Um...I don't know what it's made out of. But, I though the movie was pretty cool, too :D

I went and saw it on the early Tuesday preview thingy as well. It was so nostalgic seeing Superman on the big screen again, though. Made me feel like a kid again :D

And by the way, Superman owns.

According to the comics Supermans outfit was tailored together using the material his father wrapped him in to send him to this planet.  So pretty much he's wearing his baby blankets.  And Kayda you might want to hide your last sentence, some might think it a spoiler.

Oh and I loved this movie although I think they chose the wrong actress for Lois but Keven Spacey sure did own that role as Luther.

According to my Encyclopedia Kryptonica, Superman actually has a very thin invisible protective shield of energy that surrounds his body.  It doesn't extend to his cape, however.  That's why his cape will always take more damage than the suit itself.

And yeah, Kate Bosworth != Lois Lane.

Gearing up to see it this Saturday!

I was a good movie. It wasn't amazing like I'd hoped it to be. I've never been a HUGE Superman fan to begin with but the movie really didn't change my mind. Lois was always supposed to be a bold and courageous woman and in this movie they turn her into your typical damsel in distress; how is that a tribute to the original movies and comic character?

It's definitely better than X3 but it can't top Batman Begins and V for Vendetta as the best movies made from a comics up to this point... in my opinion.

I have been refraining from posting in this thread but I guess I will go ahead..

So.. saw it...
Not gonna lie.. I think I got my hopes and expectations a little to high *not saying I didn't like it* but I seriously thought it would be one of those end all of end all super hero flicks.. cuz well.. its freakin Superman... and I left a little dissapointed.... but on that note..
I liked the story line. I thought The movie was overall a good one.. *when I went and saw it a second time I liked it alot more* I guess I was just expecting it to blow Spiderman and X-men out of tha water... oh well..

However... going on the tech aspects...
they had to make I think 86 copies of that suit.. because it was made out of some material that when it got a wrinkle it got stuck there and affected the suit.. and it was so custom made that he had to stay within a two pound difference just to fit in the snug suit...
*probably another reason I got my hopes high was cuz I read like every article and whatnot I could find on the movie.*

Kevin Spacey makes for an EXCELLENT Lex Luthor...
Furthermore... as I was saying.. Good movie... and Xtreem is right.. can't really top Batman Begins and V but perhaps the sequel aka Superman ReLoaded will top it... now that they got the movie franchise going again.

Don't forget about Sin City as one of the top comic movies out there.  That film was frame by frame to the comic book in some areas, and I mean right down to the camera angles and outfits.

yeah his suit was from krypton so its also technically supposed to be almost indestructable unless it comes into contact with kryptonite just like superman

Saw it last night.  I was a bit skeptical about Brandon Routh as Superman, but I was thouroughly impressed.  He sounds a bit like Christopher Reeve, so that helped a bit I think.

And there were so many references to the first film!  Quotes, music (more than the Superman theme), images!  Even the opening credits resemble how they were done in '78.  A photograph of Superman in the film even gives a nod to the first issue of "Action Comics" that Superman appeared in!  These kinds of things really made it fun to watch.

My only big complaint remains to be Kate Bosworth as Lois.  Lois was a military brat, and as a result of that upbringing, she kicked a lot of ass in the comics.  She could hold her own if she needed to.  Kate Bosworth doesn't portray that at all.  And I'm sorry, but "How many F's are there in 'Catastrophe'?"  This woman won the goddamn Pulitzer and she's asking how many F's are in 'castastrophe'?!  Was Bryan Singer trying to make her look overly stupid?

Anyway, enough ranting.  Looks like I'll have to re-buy the boxed set when this comes out on DVD.  :)

Manic, you scare me sometimes. But in an 'it's really impressive you pay that much attention to detail' way.
