X-men: The Last Stand
« on: May 26, 2006, 01:28:25 am »
Ok..
I will keep this simple without spoilers...

Really Good movie...  I am a fan of the movies. I really like how they were done. They were done well. From a movie stand point this was a great movie... The action was great, the characters were used well *most of them at least* and overall a good movie.. Good vs. Evil... yadayada...

As a fan of X-men in general.... I left this movie a little pissed... I think most xmen fans will... If your gonna end a movie series I guess this is how it would be done....

On that note... I would recommend everyone go see this movie. However, if you are a fan of X-men, well... enjoy... let me know if your opinions...

I got home and tried to levitate a chair. (It didn't work).

Where was the Gambit cameo they promised us? I really can't believe this is the end of the X-men series. They left enough open ends to where another one COULD be made, but I also read in the paper today that Halle Berry will not do another superhero, and all the official reports say they aren't going to do another one... /sigh. I suppose if you HAD to end the movie series, then yes, this would be the way to do it... I just hate that it happened though. Still an incredible movie. I'm going to go see it again, for sure.

They're stopping the X-Men Series to produce a couple Wolverine Movies. And they're making either a Wolverine meets Spiderman, or something like that. I do know for certain that they will be making at least one movie focused entirely on Wolverine.

The Last Stand is NOT (REPEATING NOT) the last X-men movie of this series... and since I like you guys, if you want proof, stay after the credits.

Review: Overall good storyline, didn't feel that they brought enough new mutants to the mix. The ones they had really got the shaft. They played Angel to have much more of a role then he really did. They director did a good job, but the overall feeling of the movie (camera, angles, lighting, music, etc) just didn't have the feel of the first 2. But go see it.

The Gambit cameo was a rumor.  Fox stated a while back that Gambit wasn't going to be in the 3rd movie.  If anything a Gambit stand alone movie would work showing how he joined the Thieves guild ect.

Yeah, I kind of called the "real" ending during the credits and it was a trip :D

All in all, a great movie. The annoying shaky camera syndrome popped up on a few occasions with little point but nothing too huge.

I loved how they started out with a bang and kept it rolling right on from there. The pacing was great with almost no slow/boring moments to be seen. They kept it very tight and very practical (although I wish they would have shown more of the Colossus fighting and wtf happened to Nightcrawler?)

The script was great, all of Wolverine's lines were dead-on with his smart-ass and cocky attitude. There isn't much that can be said about the story without spoilers so I think we can all save that for a later time.

Also, there's no way this is the last X-Men movie. Studios don't let go of their cash crops that easily; they'll be more. Like Fox said, they're taking a break so they can work on other spin-offs and whatever so relax. Maybe 5-10 years down the road they'll make another one and maybe Singer will return from his Superman binge.

I read on upcoming movie websites that this would be the end of the trilogy, the end of this particular 3-movie plot....

however producers and directors envision a new X-men series/trilogy ..... rise of apocolypse ne1? =)

No Way! Yay for the Canadian factor (I heart Canadians) but there is no way she's hotter than Rouge. Granted Rouge isn't as attractive as her comic book figure, but Kittie Pryde looks like she's 11! Cradlerobber.

Oh my God. You SOOO missed out if you didn't stay for the credits, even though the scene was 20 seconds long.
