Could IE7 replace it? Check it out and see

LMAO... ok so requires validation of your windows key... so i;ll have to do it on my notebook, cause you know I don't pirate anything at all... *rollseyes*

Hrmmm...

Tabbed Browsing... ok
Search Bar... seen that already
RSS Feeds... firefox already does it
Security Crap... nothin different...

the one thing that worries me about IE7 is that its Microsuck that coded it... no matter what they do, theres always loop holes in their code. (not that there isn't in firefox, but its less exploitable)

The only reason firefox would die from this, is because MS will bundle it with Windows Vista or whatever its called now...

I'm happy with Firefox...

So far I am really enjoying it. The thing I always hated about Firefox is that certain websites with special tools require IE. Anyway if they keep the code clean it will be good stuff. Also noticed black text is like brownish kinda weird.

The Open Source movement has started, Firefox might lose it traction in the world market but it won't die. And once a security hole is found and exploited and not fix for months by Microsoft.....

When I posted this I didn't mean this to be a lets save FireFox thread. Obviously FireFox will not die. I posted this with the intentions that you should try IE7 and post your thoughts. So far I will be keeping IE7 over FireFox, time to move on.

I'm anxious not to download any more IE pre-release stuff though Lith... what were your experiences?  What made it better than/equal to FF?  Is it buggy as hell?

All i have to say is ACID2. Which both Browers fail at BUT IE7 fail far worse the Firefox. I'll stick to firefox for I have some plug-in i like.

IE7 is like a FF clone but it feels simplier. The favorites bar opens on the side in a folder format. It has a custimizable seach bar, tabbing, and a page authenticity validator to help stop spoof sites. It isn't buggy at all and it seems faster than FF. Like I said I hate the fact I can't do some stuff in FF that I can do in IE. Most specifically some streaming video and special design programs.

I kept telling everyone since last year that IE 7 will beat all browsers in the past. No one believed me :p

I'll try it out later tonight. I gotta go eat now!

EW! IE7 is gross
« Reply #11 on: February 06, 2006, 10:04:35 pm »
EWWWWWWW!!! This is gross :p DUDE I was expecting something much better.

1. I can't move the "back" and "forward" buttons nor the address bar.
2. I can't get rid of the search box.
3. I can't move the "home" button up to the first line!!! It causes this HUGE top bar, which I HATE.
4. I can't get rid of the tabs (I usually like them hidden unless I"m using them!)
5. The "back" and "forward" graphics look like crap. The outline is not sharp.
6. PRIVACY SUCKS! HOLY CRAP! Follow these steps to find out why:
     A. Visit a website.
     B. "Delete Browsing History"
     C. Close the window.
     D. Open a new window.
     E. Right click beside the tabs, then click "Restore Last Tab Group".
PRIVACY GONE! The last website you visited is exposed.

I use to be a strong Internet Explorer advocate. However, in my opinion, they've f***ed up. They could have done a much better job. I'm just hoping the final build is much better.
