Alright, I guess I'm on the tail-end of this discussion...

Nice sig, by the way.  :)

I thought AWR was player-run.  I thought it was part of a larger community of MMO radio stations.  Now it has joined MMORadio.com.  But everyone is making it sound like SOE took it over.

Any clarification would be much appreciated.  :\

ok guys, here's whats up from me-'the inside'.

AWR was officially "player run" when it was RFZ, then Sundog, the guy who ran RFZ ditched it. He stopped answering phone calls and emails - he killed the streams and website without telling anyone, and left it in the air. The station was left to RG and after talking with Relics who owns his own graphic design company, they decided to take it over as a business venture. Thinking Man Studios created Thinking Man Broadcasting and owned awakenedradio as it's first station. Later we took over mmoradio and have/are in the process of running approximatly 8 different stations for MMOs.

This process is based on the requests and support of the publishers. For instance, Turbine created Dungeons and Dragons Online. They are officially supporting, and I beleive soon to be financially funding in part dndradio.com. Other publishers are willing to "officially support" each station created specificlly for that MMO. In every-other-day talks with SOE, they have been very reluctant to support the station-I'm not even talking money here. So TMB and AWR's position is that it is unfair to give to SOE what other companies are either paying for or supporting.

If you were Turbine and heard TMB was still keeping AWR active for FREE, would you stil support dndradio?

We're not even looking for money. We're looking for support. Official support from SOE that makes it seem like a radio presence is important to the community. They don't see it as important enough.

One of the other big issues is that SOE has provided nothing for us to report on. There are no events, there's no real news on updates, and on some of the things that have been discusses, they have lied about. This is all hush-hush info-by the way.

yeah, so does that fill you in? Nice sig by the way. I'm glad we got our faction name in there.

I've never liked RFZ/AWR but I have my own stations that I listened too.

(BTW its not like DDO has anything to report on either, but a least its is making an active effort to push the game forward.)

Why does this line come to mind... "Save a horse, ride a cowboy!"

Anyway haven't really listened to AWR since they changed from RFZ. However, I still feel it should be considered a large part of the community.
