It got pretty good reviews.  I saw a trailer a while back and thought it was the corniest thing in the world.  Guess i need to see it.

I wasn't a big fan of the series (called Firefly on Fox a few years ago) until the DVDs came out. (ok, ok, until my bro-in-law gave me the burned episodes on DVD)
It takes a bit of getting warmed up to, but is a great show - and now movie. I'll be going to see it tonight.

Went and saw it this aft!  Truely was good... going to download what existed of the series before it was cancelled.

Sorry for digging up an OLD thread, but if anyone has missed out on the incredible television series Firefly, I would feel personally responsible.  Firefly is, without a doubt, one of the best television shows ever made.  I wasn't a Joss Whedon fan before (Whedon did Buffy and Angel), but I am now convinced he is one of the most creative and well rounded wirters of our time.  The show was cancelled through no fault of its own; the networ, FOX, did a horrible job marketing it, and aired the episodes out of order.  Anyways, do what you have to to get your hands on the DVD box set.  Blockbuster has it, and you can download them pretty easily.

Yeah it's a nice movie =D I like the reavers as the bad guys but they had no mention in the series (did they?).

With the exception of the two expisodes where the mentioned them, one of which solely focused on a Reaver attack, no they didn't.

They mentioned them all the time! They even had a big chase scene in the pilot.
