Greetings!

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Andy Kaplan and I'm the Producer for The Matrix Online. I'll be staying on with the development team moving over to Sony Online Entertainment. I'm looking forward to getting involved with the community in the months ahead.

A few weeks ago we released a patch with a ton of great additions and fixes. Unfortunately, we also introduced some client instability that some of you have been experiencing. The patch that we released today has righted those issues. We understand that this has caused a lot of problems for the community and we'd like to make it up to you.

This weekend we are increasing the experience gained for defeating your enemies by 50%. Please enjoy the holiday weekend, be safe, and have fun!

Sincerely,
Andy Kaplan
Producer, The Matrix Online

Editor's Note: The XP bonus will be in effect from 4:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (11:00 AM GMT), Saturday, July 2 through 4:00 AM PDT, Tuesday, July 5. There will be a brief period of downtime beginning at 4:00 AM on Saturday and Tuesday to implement the changes. -Walrus

That's awesome, although they picked a bad time to do it.  July 4th is always hectic around here!  Hopefully, I'll find time to get in game. Thanks Styan!

They never learn, just like beta they add a exp boost but no info boost, so everyone will be even poorer.

They also do things on a holiday weekend where alot of people already have plans. They should do it on a non-holiday. So that people like me can reap the benifits, by the way I won't be back until tuesday.

Plus its only for killing NPC enemies... no mission boost, no node boost. Thats bull, I used to play a game on a private server maintained by some 17 year old in his spare time, and if he 'F'ed up as bad as Monolith has since ohhh.... RELEASE, he would be apologizing his ass off! He had a bug on one of the changes, in which some characters might have lost some money or an item or two, and he FREAKED OUT and was in game constantly making things right. If only he could see Monolith, he would slap them. A lot. This is something you do just because, it isn't saying, "Oh we are sorry we screwed up please dont leave MxO." We would have been better off if they came to our door... and pissed on our foot. (Yes Lewis Black material) You know, this reminds me of that one day.. Bush got on TV and said Iraq had nukes...............

This XP boost was awesome.  I gained three levels in two days doing Tiny/Hard Assassination missions, and I'm six bars from hitting 40.

If you want XP, Assassination missions are the way to go.  I remember hearing people talk about Infiltration missions being the best way to get XP.  It's complete crap.  I'm getting triple the amount of XP doing Assassination missions as opposed to Infiltrations.

Infilration missions used to the main thing for quick exp, when sneak wasn't broken by opening desks/picking locks. Now it takes twice as long and you usually don't have a really tough NPC to fight in the final room. Assassination missions are great for XP and Info in my opinion, when I did them it was about a 1:2 chance of getting 100k+ info drop from the final guy or one of his guards.
