XBox 360? Sony and Nintendo give run for money!

I watched all three companie's conferences in which they all explained their new systems. I also got to see some cool demos for them (except the revolution, as it's still not finished). The PS3's graphics made me go "Oh my god! THAT isn't a real person!?" the graphics are the most powerful in the world with the RSX GPU. as a sample, they took a clip from spiderman 2 and instead of using the movies origional rendered graphics (whichs takes hours upon hours to compile and decode on supercomputers) they ran the exact same scene using the PS3's graphics and it was EXTREMELY difficult to notice a difference! In the conference they announced the PS3 to be released in spring 2006. Oh yes..... 7 PLAYERS!!!


The Xbox 360 will still look spectacular (way better than the best comp out there right now) and has an amazing customizable UI. It will be the only console to make it to winter this year. In the conference they focused mainly on Xbox Live, they will be making it with more options to appeal to every type of gamer. They are putting a lot of the resources into this so it becomes easier for you to 'connect' to the world, playing with friends, people you don't know that are casual gamers, or hardcore.


The Nintendo convention mainly focused on their power over the handheld entertainment world. They reviewed how the Nintendo DS is doing. They DID show off the Nintendo revolution, but the box they showed is a "prototype"..... The final size they are trying to get is a console about the size of 3 CD cases stacked together (freakin small!). The main attraction for this console is the ability to play ANY nintendo game to ever come into existance! even the NES games will run on the revolution! They did not announce a release date so we may have to wait yet another year for this revolution.


With that said.... all consoles look amazing, they will all be backwards compatible. and will all have wireless controllers.

I think the Nintendo will do well since it takes the old carts too! A lot of old hardcore Nintendo people will get this I think, so probably do better than the N64. However, Nintendo's bad results show what Microsoft have to go through to be a success. MS do make good games (Flight sims are always top notch by the looks), but of course are notorious for being dodgey and the devil.

Sony haven't done any let downs. Don't get me wrong, things like burnout3 are fantastic, but Sony gets it every time for me.... just now.

I hate FPS games on consoles... need keyboard and mouse any day.
RPG's and other 3rd person GTA types are great on the pad tho.

The Revolution will allow you to play games from NES by downloading them.  This is amazing and i might have to pick one of these up with my PS3.

Xbox might be able to play for a while since it comes out first, but after that it's all downhill. The machine might be great, but the support just isn't there. It's unfortunate that Microsoft bought Rare and a few other companies, but hey, thats what M$ does. When they can't compete, they throw money at everything and hope for the best. Too bad for them they won't be this time.

I have no doubt that the PS3 will not disappoint. The specs on that thing are by far the most advanced of the three. Couple that with the party support of many reputable companies and you have a solid and nigh unbeatable powerhouse. There's nothing more I can say here.

Revolution has the retro gamer thing going on, but it also has a built in wireless online connection. I don't know how they're doing it, but its supposedly ready to take online right out of the box. Now I'm not sure on this but I THINK you can play online with the NES, SNES, N64, and GC games as well. And finally, I have no idea about this one, but they are saying that there is a "surprise" that they arent revealing until launch.

the thing that sucks about rev is that you have to download all the old games since you dont use your old carts the reason that sucks is that even though you already got the game you got to pay for it again. to me the ps3 is just a more uber version of ps2 same stuff better graphics where the x360 has all the cool bells and whistles added and now free xbox live but if you do pay you get even more stuff so let me point this out there also for xbox360 "free online out of box". LONG LIVE XBOX 360!!!11one!

PS3 will dominate all.....it even is wireless....WIRELESS!!! hell yah, the PS3 is definitely worth the extra wait. and besides, the Xbox 360 is being rushed into the market way too early because i still think there needs to be better specs in the system than what it has on it now. By the time the PS3 hits the shelves, the Xbox 360 will be like comparing the PS2 to a N64......The Xbox will be hot until the PS3 hits, then its all hell from there for the Xbox 360......it's a fact, simple as that....

ahh i guess ill take the time to make a constructive post later on but right now i want to point out some things. Ice: all the next gen consoles are wireless even nintendo's. Rorin: sony hasnt annouced anything for their online play heck i dont even think they have said that it will be online it is just assumed. and the nintendo is going to have a paid online service that is how you get all the downloaded content etc. but they may for the rev i know they will for the DS have a free mulitplay online service. Nintendo is looking into making a xbox live type service. Tbone: yes the PC does own all to bad the PS3 and X360 are all better than my pc. Everyone in general: all details on the consoles including their specs are all what they want to put into them. Now the cell chip in the PS3 isnt even finished yet. Just because what they announced now isnt neccisairly what is going to be in the retail product. Bit i read today that thier was some japenese article in a newspaper saying that PS3 may cost about $500 american dollars which is about 50,000 yen. Now it may seem like I am anti playstation but Im not i love my xbox and playstation equaly I just havent exposed my anti xbox side yet mostly because I havent found stratight up reasons to hate the next gen yet.
