The Xone:92 is GOD.  If I had the money, it would be mine.

Is there anyone on RFZ doing actual live mixing with turntables?

//edit:Oops, I meant the Xone:62 is GOD.  The X:92 has too many buttons and knobs for my taste.  The things thing I like about it are the headphone amp.. clear and loud and the 4 eq knobs.

You know how much that thing runs now? I never really did look into A&H prices.

I only know like 2 other rfz djs that do some form of electronic music-but I'm the only one who plays full mixes. The others just play track [pause] track [talk a bit] track...
There was one night i had to setup for a LAN party at a buddies place so I brought my comp with and I had to DJ that night. I set up his mixer into my systems and he did a 50 or so minute mix. That's the only time I've done it, and the only time I'm aware of that its has been done on rfz.

Well, at the very least Fuse, you could use the mixer to put digital streams through to pipe out of. That is assuming you have a card that can handle it (Or an adapter to make the Stereo L&R into Stereo 1/8"), or something like the EMU-0404 (Mmmmm...tasty), which I'll be getting soon. It could really make your show rather interesting.

Just on a side note, I highly, highly recommend you get this card. I can refer you to a guy who can get you one at a decent price, and even mod it for better sound (bigger better everything, basically (I forget the specifics)). If you're interested, just let me know.

I'm not much into making music, and to be honest, I have no idea what most of that stuff does....so instead, I'll show you all my latest toy.

Yes, I know, Guns aren't toys....But in the "Expensive things that people buy" category, its a toy

This is what I'm doing right now. I am using onboard sound, so I have some limitations, but I have always found ways to make this work. I was streaming some of my records to Lelyel last night while testing. I have my microphone into my mic of the mixer, mixer master out into linein of comp, Booth monitor into aux2 of amp, phones from comp split between my aux1 of amp and my headphones (for non-mix listening-TS), amp out to speakers, plus I setup my laptop near my tables so when I do stream the mix my main comp just handles streaming and my laptop handles TS, monitoring the current stream (the one everyone hears), and my chats.

I split the master and booth outputs because when I stream there is about a half second delay between when it enters my cop, gets processed by SAM3 and spits it tou to the stream, and also my speakers. So using aux2 I can hear myself live, on aux1 I can hear whats going out of the stream, or any other sound from my computer.

And as far as guns, yeah they're not toys, but I do anjoy shooting. Currently have a beretta 9mm 92fs with side laser grips. I wish to get a 9000s F when I move out.

Last I checked, the Xones were both over $1000.. way outta my range.  I lurked ebay for a couple of weeks hoping to find a used 62 but no luck.  I ended up getting the Rane for about $700 and I am totally happy with it.

I used to stream alot a couple of years ago through shoutcast.  I only monitored what was coming out of the mixer because of the second or so delay.  I'd check it every so often just to make sure it wasnt distorted or anything.  I also had people on ICQ who would let me know if something was going wrong.  I have separate sound systems for my comp and my DJ equipment... are you splitting everthing up that way because you've got only one?

Sounds like you are doing everything right. I would suggest a better soundcard, one of the audigys with the front input panel makes it alot easier to hook things up.  But I'm pretty sure your onboard sound is fine.  I was using a 16bit soundcard when I first started 'casting with no problems.

What does RFZ use for streaming?

You know, for a computer graduate, I really should know how to type better than that last post I made.

We use SAM3 for the streaming. I would like to setup my own shoutcast server sometime-for the faction and for org parties. I've played with the idea before, but never really figured it out. Think you could help me out with it? I want to do it comepletely based on my computer-no outside server help. The reason I'm doing it through my computer like that is so I can also record . I do have a separate 80watt amp, but I like to plug everything through my receiver, plus I can't find the power plug for it. I was going to grab one of the audigys, but my cash supply was limited. When I did get money I spent a grand of it on this mixer. I would actually end up getting the platinum pro version because I don't have any 5.25 drive bays left and that one is an external device with the PCI card.

By the way, I just set it up... if you wanan listen to me trying to tweak it, the IP is http://67.175.125.74:8000
I'm not sure hwo to setup the web for it right now, I'll deal with that another time. The listener max is set to 25, paste that into your winamp/windowsmedia. Let me know how it streams.
