This is a rough draft...:

My apologies on the delay for posting this, but I wanted to have the chance to get all the facts straight and to take measures to ensure mistakes of this nature do not happen again before I made an official response.

This is in regards to an FA member being untargetable during a portion of the event last night. First of all, I would like to apologize on behalf of FA for potentially ruining the event. Regardless of the details, it is unfortunate that things happened like they did.

I would like to say that FA never had any intention of purposefully using a bug to slant the results. There was no premeditation to what occurred. Never did we intentionally try to die or kill ourselves to gain an advantage. When I scored the first goal, I was completely unaware that I was not targetable. I thought the revive grace period was on a timer. It was not realized until a few more goals into the event as to what had happened initially, and once it was realized, I informed my crew not to take advantage of the pvp flag issue. I'm sure many of you can remember killing quite a few of us. If not, many of you saw us as targetable enemies.

Unfortunately, we did get caught up in the heat of the event. A member neglected to take the necessary steps to turn the PvP flag back on after he had been revived, and he ended up leading the Shaper at the end. In retrospect, we should have made certain that the flag was on, so that neglect was our fault. We got caught up in the event instead of being careful that we didn't do anything that could be considered wrong. For that, we are sincerely sorry.

As for the aftermath, I'm sure that the MxO Staff was all over the event. The Shaper was controlled by a Staff member, and I'm sure they were closely watching the whole thing. If anyone knows the full details, it is them. We do feel bad for potentially slanting things, and so, in a show of good faith, we have decided not to participate in the rest of the event (i.e. hunting frags, etc.). We are confident that Zion will still come out on top, but since people feel we could have tipped the scales unfairly one way, we are excluding ourselves to do what we can to balance it out.

Once again, we are sorry for the troubles we may have caused. It was never our intent to ruin the fun or the game for anyone. I assure you that if we had the time to think things through, we would have done some things differently. It is unfortunate that things happened like they did, and I hope that in the future things like this will not have the opportunity to occur.

It seems fine to me, but no matter how well written it is, people will still flame.

I agree and i think taking ourselves out of the event is a sign of good faith that we stand by what is being said.  I cant see anything wrong with the post and i hope the community reads it with an open mind.   FA to the end!

5th paragraph "Although I'm sure Zion would have scored the three goals regardless (Zion was working very well during the event!), we do feel bad for potentially slanting things."

Don't think we should make assumptions that we would have won. I remember seeing alot of jokerz and  viral humanity and other tough enemies following the shaper and leader pretty damn closely for most of the time. I saw many times where they could have stolen if the leader would have been attackable. Please take that into consideration, Tbone.

I am willing to make the sacrifice of removing myself from the storyline. I will gladly back the Angels and whatever manuver we deside to take. It's all for the better of the faction and the game as a whole.

Good to go. :)

Thank God.  I want to hit lvl 30 before the weekend is over.  I'm feeling a bit inferior on the battlefield.

Now that is the FA I have grown to respect and appreciate. Very well put Tbone. I am pleased to see that this issue was handled correctly. I have no doubt that this will help quickly regain some of our recently lost respect in the community. As mentioned previously, we will undoubtedly still receive flames in the forums. We always will. If any of you hold the opinions of the forum trolls in high regard, you may want to rethink your gameplan. What is important here is that this will reestablish our place in the community as players that lead by example. Also, perhaps more important, this is an admittance to ourselves. We cannot hide from the fact what we did was cheap and wrong. To try and divert the blame to the devs is beneath us. Thanks T.

So wait, how long exactly does that mean we're "Excluding ourselves?"

Yeah, very well put but it probably won't solve any problems if people read it with their skewed perception again, as always. It sucks that we have to take ourselves out of the whole event, but as a show of good faith, it makes sense to do so. I wasn't online to see the event but I had heard stories, I'm glad that there was a reasonable explanation, I knew no one in FA would intentionally make use of an exploit. (not after last time) Great job.
