For as long as I have been in FA we've tried our best to be the BEST faction and to have a great time. It was bound to happen-- A mistake. I know some people think it was the games fault for what happened or someone elses fault. For those of you who don't know. Before I put this, if it was 3 people who weren't to blame for anything, It was Tbone and Gabe and Burncycle ( i think it was burn who lead the 3rd guy). I and many others would have done the same exact thing with the pressure of the situation. Here's what happened:

-An Event To Lead Shaper NPCs to Subways
-I pretty muched follow everywhere the shaper went
-Tbone died from attacks from Mervs and Machinists
-Tbone got rez'd
-Shapers had to be lead by the /shakehands emote, which only one person could do
-First time we lead a shaper Tbone had him
-Tbone could not be attacked
-We lead our first Shaper into subway
-we realized tbone couldn't be attacked (or at least I did)
-gabe died from machines and mervs
-gabe got rez'd
-it was mentioned not to do the /suicide rez trick
-gabe got a /shakehands on a shaper
-we mentioned in TS that gabe could not be attacked
-we were even talking about gabe was gonna make it cuz he couldn't be attacked
-gabe leads shaper to subway
-people say in area chat how some of us cannot be attacked
-we try to get low lvls with no pvp tag to /shakehands with the last one
-burncycle gets the /shakehands
-leads shaper to subway
Thats what happened at the event.

----(Here's where i think many people including myself had an issue floating around in our heads. Gabe was not attackable....he was leading the shaper....no way for us to not lose that shaper. This was mentioned in teamspeak and pretty much everyone knew about. If I blame ONE PERSON for something WRONG, It is MYSELF, Nemi. I wish I could have stepped up to say  "People, what we are doing is not right and needs to be stopped right now, or say type in /pvp, or just /suicide to have someone who does have pvp flag to get the guy to follow". But that DIDN'T happen. I reget not saying that. And even if we did stop it that time i have no doubt about it that we still would have been deemed exploiters for when Tbone led. But I'm pretty sure we all knew it was not nessicarilly an exploit or not, but we do know it was a cheap thing to do.
No doubt about it. The event was the most fast paced event i've ever been in. Even so I still blame myself for not stepping up.)----

We fucked up. Again, WE FUCKED UP. We made a mistake. We didn't want to deemed exploiters. But we DID do a cheap shit trick. That can't be changed.

While discussion it in teamspeak afterwards for many hours. Many people seemed to think it wasn't our fault. We need to take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for what happened even IF WE DIDNT INTEND for this to happen. If we want to solve this in the community, we need to solve this within the faction first.

Basically to sum it up. We messed up. It doesn't matter if it were an exploit or not. It was cheap way to win. We weren't trying to be cheap and/or exploit, but it happened.  Now it is being discussed by some members on the mxo forums. which it shouldn't be. It's going to be difficult to refrain from posting i know. I'm angry as fuck w/ all the flamers. But that's all those people will ever be.

We aren't bad people. We aren't exploiters. A mistake was made. I blame myself. We are in the process of getting this resolved. That's that.

All I have to say to everyone is DO NOT let this bullshit get to you. Do not even think about leaving this faction for something like this. You will be doing exactly what those flamers want you to do, make everyone leave and watch the faction melt away. You know we did nothing wrong, show them that it will take a lot more to bring us down.

bah, sory, didn't read the last sentence of your post Tizona. Stuff like that is exactly why I MADE THIS THREAD. >>>We did do something wrong<<<. We ARE responsible for it. Maybe not our fault,  maybe could have happened to anyone else, don't know. but it happened to us.

I know you are hell bent on blaming yourself Nemi, but it wasn't your fault. I carry much guilt with what took place that night, from the moment we realized this was cheap and could be seen as a possible exploit by community members, minority or majority. I can't express in words how terrible I feel, even though I feel it was an honest mistake, I can't help but feel extremely responisble for what happened. I'd just like you all to know that I am sincerely sorry for not thinking more clearly that night, for using such a cheap tactic to my, our advantage, and for potentially bringing down this shit storm on our good name. Lord knows if we could do it all over again we would, and much differently I might add. At the same time, we can't be consumed by thoughts of "would have, could have, should have", what's done is done, as nemi stated... all we can do now is our best. I refuse to believe that we CANNOT recover from this, can one mistake truly destroy everything we've been working for? I don't believe so.

I'll stop ranting for now. Nemi I appreciate your post. FA I appologize for my actions. Lets all keep our chins up and just do what we can, shall we?

It is sad to say, however, this is the entire faction's responsibility as well as the devs'. To blame any one person in this faction for the events that happened, would be unfair. This faction is as a brotherhood of individuals with common goals. We are all one in the same and all brothers. By joining this faction, i made a silent oath to honor this faction and all it's members through thick and thin; hell and high water. Granted, I was at work and unable to participate in the event myself, I deem myself partly responsible for it. I am not gonna exclude myself and say it is not my fault since i wasn't there; the fact is that it was all our faults, and whether we want to admit it or not, we will all have to pay for it. Do not blame yourselves for the shitty happenings of Sat night Nemi, Gabe, Burn, and Tbone. It was a grevious mistake and could have happened to ANYONE in MXO. However, since it was us and we are so recognizable, everyone flips out. This is not a matter of a few exiled members deemed scapegoats, this is a moment in time where this faction needs to stand together and take most of the blame. Even if you weren't involved in the event itself, you are part of this faction and as such, everyone must take responsibility, as you will be blamed and punished just like as if you were there anyways. UNIFY, WE MUST ALL STICK TOGETHER THROUGH THICK AND THIN!!!
