Important: Tonight's Battle! (12/30)

Time: 8:00p.m. FA time (be EARLY! try to be there by 7:00)
Place: North wall of the PvP Construct
Against: The Collective


Rules:

No Crash Ability (please do not even have this ability loaded)
No Trash Talking (this is a friendly battle)


Strategy:

Here's the plan so listen up!

Phase 1: SNEAK AND HACK - Soldiers, Hackers, and Res'ers line up facing East well before the battle. Spies with abilities such as Bulldog loaded hide in the Northeast corner very early on. Hopefully TC will follow suit and line up facing us (with their backs to the East and to the spies). Right before the battle begins, spies will sneak up behind specific targets (primarily their Hackers and Res'ers). As soon as the battle is announced to begin, spies will attack from behind, paralyzing their Hackers. As their Hackers enter Interlock with our Spies, our Hackers will hack them down, finishing them off (targets will be assigned right before the battle. Each target should have both a spy and hacker assigned to it). Lower levels and res'ers will jump to either side of the battle, staying alive to heal and res. Soldiers will rush forward, attempting Interlock with their Soldiers.

Phase 2: CLEANING YOUR PLATE - Assuming the first phase goes well, Hackers and Spies will then focus on helping Soldiers take down the remaining enemies that are Interlocked. Res'ers will be reviving any fallen teammates.

Phase 3: SEARCH AND DESTROY  - Assuming phases one and two go as planned, all that will be left are those that ran away and spies sneaking around. Groups will be pre-assigned (probably based on Hovercraft) to cover sections of the battlefield (i.e. southeast, southwest, center, etc.). You are to stick to your pre-assigned area unless another group needs assistance. Remain there until the battle is over or you are instructed to do otherwise.


Communications:

You are expected to be on Teamspeak in order to have up-to-date information and commands handed to you. For organization purposes, we will try to keep the chatter to nothing before and during the fight. If you need a res, say "yourname res at southwest" and type your coordinates in the faction chat. Directions are based on the center of the area (where we will start the fight), so southwest would be southwest of that area.) We will hopefully assign leaders of squadrants to confirm or request before and during the fight.

Here are some examples of positive communciation:

Tbone: "Spies approach your target. Confirm when in place."
SpyLeader: "All spies are in place."
Tbone: "Prepare for battle."
Tbone: "Attack!"

Tbone: "Tbone needs Res at southwest."

Here are some examples of negative communication:

Tbone: "Oh crap. I'm dead. Who can Res? Anyone? I need a Res. I'm by the pipe thingy."

Tbone: "Spies approach your targets."
FA: "Are we about to begin? I thought I saw some RIP earlier. Do you think they'll show up? Hey Tbone, that hat looks stupid."

Tbone: "I see one! I'm getting him now. Oh crap, I need help. He's right over here by me! Someone get over here! He's right in front of me! AHHH!"

lol i rather enjoyed what "not" to say lol. sorry...erm..as for another strategy i think ive figured out a way to keep the spies "targetable" when playing around with concealment countermeasure tool i found that if we can see them, before they disappear completely that it keeps them from doing so, and will reflect off of dead bodies as well. rather neat to play around with, and quite a distance if you can get bodies every 6m.

Some Questions on the rules:

1.  Will impart invisibility be allowed?  Seems to let you fight in and out of interlock while being invisible.

2.  So leaving the platform is allowed?  Is it the last faction standing on the platform or are we just having a deathmatch starting on the platform?

PS:  Not sure how much IS it costs, but smoke bomb would be a nice way to blind a whole lot of them, considering they're close enough together, right from the get go.  I'll bring mine.

Can you use a low level 14 like myself?  I dont imagine I would do much more than eat up some of their bullets, etc while others can target them.

but I can't get into the Construct without being placed back in FA.  Dont know if that is something tbone has to do, or if someone from my hovercraft needs to do.  If so, someone find Levanaxand tell him to get online tonight.

Why aren't you in the faction?  Anyone from your hovercraft can let you in, and yes,  we could use you.  It looks like alot of people are not going to be in, so we need all the help we can get.

i'll try my best to be there.. i doubt i'll be there at 7 but 8 for sure. Also do you know  how many hackers there will be both on our  faction as well as theirs?  Because certain factors like how many spys and hackers will EASILY be out numbered. I think i have seen only 3 or 4 people other than myself even TRY the spy tree. I know that i will be a maxed out Master Assassin, Master Knife thrower, and Master Shadow. I know grim was going partly spy or full spy . i don't know if she still is. There might have been 1 or 2 more trying it out but i don't even know if they still are. I'm just curious if we will be able to balance our numbers in terms of the Strat that we are going to use. Then again we wont know that for sure until tonight... hmm.

It's probably because the Carpe Diem is the most inactive ship in the faction...

Beleev, we are NOT AT THE PLATFORM. We are at the north wall. Our boundaries will begin at the north wall pipes, to the furthest pipes we can see from the starting position in the south. East and west is the distance between the spy start and the dirt mound.

To Low Levels
I'd say we need everyone to come out even if they're low levels. They wouldn't be part of the main strategy, but I think a good use for a level 14 is to accompany a level 30 who has revive. Heal them. Be a decoy to protect them. Make sure the medics do not die, they are vital. However, Tbone has the final say of course. Also, the ones with revive, I think, should also see if they can get invisibility. If they can jump in invisible and revive then run out safe. That would be awesome.

Hacker Exploit Revealed
I noticed that Logic Cannon 2.0 causes the most damage. However, it takes a long time to cast. To go around this: all you need to do is cast ANY Logic Blast (it casts the fastest I think), then cast Logic Cannon 2.0 right away before the damage for the logic Blast takes effect. What happens is that it uses the "cast time" of Logic Blast but gives the damage of Logic Cannon. Logic Blast isn't even used up. It works with NPCs and it works on Tbone. That with the "Improved Hacking" buff will get you a good 1300 damage.

The only problem is that the animation continues for a while after you already gave damage (which means you can't move for a while). But if your opponent is already in interlock, it won't matter (thank you spies!). Right after you give damage, you can cast any other attack. Wait for that to give damage, and then cast another.

Good combination:
Logic Blast 1.0
Right Away: Logic Cannon 2.0
Logic Barrage
Logic Blast 6.0
Logic Cannon 1.0

That should kill anyone. After a good mez of course.

Note: For some reason, "Improved Hacking" doesn't always buff me I tried it in the construct this morning at 7am and it worked. But before that it wasn't working.

I think my problem stemmed from recreating my in game persona.  When my character was daguin, it was in FA.

I deleted and started fresh with semioctal, but have yet to hook up with tbone or others to re-invite me into FA.

I would love to take part in the event this evening, if someone could meet up with me and get me into FA (otherwise the archivist wont let me in) and guide me to our destination, I will do whatever is necessary even if it means being a bullet pin-cushin.

Well, if you can't get in contact with any members of your HvCFT, contact someone from any ship thats not full.  That'll due for the faction match, i guess.

Ok, some quick answers

We need EVERYONE at the battle. This includes lvl 5's if you're that low.

The battle is at the North wall. There is no platform.

Everything is allowed except for the two rules states, though I would recommend not doing other cheap things such as ALT F4ing.

I have no idea who will be there tonight. Come in the loadout you think will be the strongest for us. If everyone gets there early, we can adjust accordingly.

Kosila, make sure you /ccr that bug. You can use it as long as you report it.

Treylar, if you want to get in the action, please join our Teamspeak server. Also, you should have our in-game names, so feel free to contact us in-game. Have you signed up for a Hovercraft? There isn't really a trial period so much as an understanding that we keep a close eye on you when you first get here. You should definitely take the steps to become an active member of the faction.

semiOctal, sorry for the delay getting you in. Like I told you last night, you have to contact a Carpe Diem member, and a lot of those guys are on vacation or have simply vanished for a while. If anything, we can add you to another ship for the time being until you are able to join your appropriate ship. How's that sound?
