Interviews: What do you think?

Tbone recently said we were going to be having some interviews in the Why I'm Leaving thread. Here's what he said:

Long before this happened, we were in the process of creating a tighter recruitment. Our plan now is to have a new challenge, the application, and a Teamspeak interview before being admitted. Also, I plan on having a Teamspeak interview with every current member of the faction. Get a mic and be ready. I'm not taking any excuses.

What do you guys think?

I'm up for it, although I think there should be some kind of scheduling so that  everyone is able to do it when they can. Otherwise I think it's  a good idea, lets us to get  in better touch with the new recruits and make sure they're  in  it for the long run.

I don't understand as to why there should be any negative thoughts at all concerning this unless it has to do with scheduling. otherwise, do it and stay, or don't and get the hell out.

I feel it should be done, though I'm not so sure if we will catch anyone with them.

To me it will be more of a test of my oral english . If my answers to Tbone goes too badly, I think I will resign from the faction. I can't stay here and be unable to communicate with you through TS.


I expect it to go well...I'm just letting you know just in case.

Orasu, you'll be in ships with other european members, you'll be with like individuals..don't fret, and don't resign.

I'm not talking about an accent. I'm talking about stumbling with the words. Usually I don't have any problems...but I can't communicate if I use 20 seconds on a 5 second phrase.

On the other hand, staying here, talking with you can only help me improve . I will, unless it turns out disasterous .

I was here when things were rolling smoothly, and I can't with clear concious leave now. And I like most of you guys (or gals), and want to stay, if only for a few good guys. In any case, I'll be staying 'till release of MxO if allowed.


Though, all of that does only matter if the interview screws up completely.

Do you want to practice? I'm not sure if TS's up right now...if so we can go on and I can help you with your english - ask anyone, I'm the King of talking...

I think it is a good idea....   It could lend insight into different members of the FA's, not just whether they will make good members, but where they might fit in and with which people.

Hey...that'd be cool once. Not right now though. I'm doing an english essay , so I'm squeezing in a post here every now and then. I hate writing essays.

This isnt the place to be talking about english lessons. There is a pm system that, well everyone including myself forgets about.

And I'm fine with the interviews. If I'm still in the faction by the time that comes, however.

I'm totally fine with an interview, nothing to hide -- I'm just curious, please enlighten me, why is a TS interview needed?  How would that tell if someones trustworthy or not?

Is it an 'interview' like a job interview or something?  or just a 'hey chat and get to know you' kind of thing?
