Go download FireFox 1.0 PR NOW

Edit: Sorry, I assumed almost every computer junkie used FireFox. FireFox is Mozilla's form of Internet Explore, (Which stole idea for in IE SP2). It has a automatic Google Toolbar, TABS (instead of new windows) and the best pop-up blocker I have ever seen. ( 6 months using it, only 2 pop-ups) Releases Sept 13.

It's Mozilla's browser, apparently the newest version because I only have .9.

Another alternate is MyIE2... It's like FireFox and got PC Mags "thumbs up". Than's why I tried it. Some popups aren't handled well, though. Does FireFox handle popups like the FA Image uplaod Java app? I've had to resort to IE in some cases for compatibility..

I'd use lynx if I could get away with it.

The problem is that there are a lot of websites that simply won't work if you don't use IE.

So... The only real solution if you don't want to have to use multiple browsers is to download an IE shell that makes IE behave like a modern browser. I use avantbrowser - which has, since release, allowed exactly 0 pop-ups through, lets me selectively enable and disable every single control, filters out ads, can block content based on type (no flash for instance while browsing mxo forums), automatically updates weather satellite images when my laptop comes in range of a wifi net, etc. etc. etc. And yeah, it's a tabbed browser, fully skinnable, has a search bar that allows you to choose which engine or engines it uses, etc.

Not that I'm biased or anything. Like I said. If so many sites didn't require that I use IE, I'd use lynx. No joke. I like text.

The only problem I have had with Firefox is certain movies and such playing, but after I reset the default playing program it worked fine. Other people have told me that FilePlanet has a problem with  FireFox .9 (Unknown about 1.0). For the few things that requires IE, I just use IE. I have always had problems with my computers after I try to uninstall IE. (Stupid Mircosoft, Why can't Monolith make a OS?)
