a NEW CAPTAIN

you might have already seen this in eclipse's thread, but i figured id bring it out in its own..

well as you all know, we are going to need a new captain to replace DOZ.  ..but picking a captain is actually alot more difficult for the staff then one might think. also Tbone is having connectivity problems, which isnt helping.

to help the staff make a choice for a new captain, I would like for those who are intrested in becoming one, to PM me and let me know what they feel makes a good captain and why they think they would be best for the job. understand there will be no such thing as "over doing it", write what you truly feel, for it will aid us in our decision.

also please add a response to this question:
on your way to pick up a special item your crew is suddenly ambushed by a mob, perhaps a local gang, you are clearly outnumbered and there is no help anywhere nearby. but within a few yards is the item you need to obtain. you know you can reach the item but it would risk the lives of your crew, yet you have traveled long and hard to get to this point. what do you do?

note: I will go over every pm with Tbone and a few of the captains.

We basically have two type of ships, one for people around America, and another for people around Europe.

Yes, I do think that some of the people, or clan members should be able to have maybe like atleast a consideration vote on who becomes captain. I mean if you're going to be submitting to a captain, it should atleast be someone who you feel that deserves that honor and right.

However in teh matrix I'm sure that the Council were the ones who chose the Captains, I do believe that they did take in consideration of the soldiers. Do you get what I'm trying to state?

This clan was built a dictatorship, not a democracy. In games like these, democracys fall left and right. Look at every single major alliance thats been attempted so far. They've all fallen, because in the realm of factions, democracy is a failed concept.

As to your comment on the council, its not just Tbone deciding. Seven, Likwid, Crimson, and all the other captains have a say or recomndation in who becomes captain. So, in conclusion, I get what your trying to state, and it would do well and good in an actual government, within a faction, its just not feasable. Once people could get a vote on who becomes captain, theyd want more. Nothing would get done.
