MinecRIFT and the Metacraft

In terms of the closest thing to an online Rift-compatible game that allows you to test the boundaries of VR, MinecRIFT is it. It's a mod of Minecraft that allows it to be fully played from within the Rift. A few Rift enthusiasts got together to create the Metacraft, a server designed specifically for Rift owners. The Furious Angels have already established ourselves on the server, working on a tall fortress overlooking the jack in point of the ground city.

We want everyone who can to join in the fun! You don't have to have a Rift to play in the server. You'll be listed as a "Screener", someone playing on a screen...heh. Here's everything you need to get started!

For instructions on enabling positional audio within the server, go here! We will use Teamspeak for guild chat and Mumble for community chat. Basically, you won't hear anyone unless you are within 65 meters of them in game, while our Teamspeak will act like a "walkie talkie" that works throughout the world. The Mumble server also tracks where they are and has their audio come from their position, making it fainter as it is further away. Very cool!

The last thing is the FA uniform. Download it now!

Once you've downloaded the uniform, head here and upload the file to tweak the look to your taste. Then download the new file and upload it to your Minecraft profile. You can create several looks, so if you want to spend some time out of the uniform, no problem. Or if you don't want to have the hat or glasses, just save several files!
