Steam - Stay Connected

If you don't use Steam yet, I highly recommend that you start.

We've started incorporating Steam into a lot of our activities. You'll notice a new block on the website that shows what members are online, what game their playing, and even gives you a link to directly join their game. Also, I've been posting events to Steam (specifically interviews) that notifies everyone before the event and as the event starts. Since it is Steam, it even notifies you while you are playing a game. We also use the Steam group chat during the interview for privacy.

In order to use Steam, you must make at least on Steam purchase (there are plenty that are under $5, but if you really don't have any of the default Steam games, there are many that we can recommend that are very cheap). Other than that, you can add any non-Steam game to Steam and use Steam's functions while gaming.

So go download Steam and join in! As of the time I am posting this, these people still need to join us in Steam:

Just to clarify, Steam itself is 100% Free. It provides a service to digitally download games and have them linked to your account so that they may be accessed from any computer.

It's a client that not only serves as a means of staying connected with your gaming community but also a way to purchase / keep your games in one area.

I have about 5 icons on my desktop... NONE are games. I've made it a habit to put a shortcut to ALL my games (Steam and non-Steam) so that whenever i want to play something the first thing i do is open steam.

I'd highly recommend that mainly so that it becomes a habit. It really is a great way to keep in touch with us all as well as see what we're all playing so that you can hop in as well.

Very interesting... I'm not sure about community access but you don't need a game to be connected with friends. My girlfriend has a few people on her friend's list that just use Steam as a means of chatting and have no games what so ever.

Either way, Steam is a MUST.

It's too convenient not to have.
